Sound argument. Except people bet against this guy all the time, he always proves them wrong. This is one they will probably take time to really decide on, its a Big cap hit, he still has a lot of games left in him. Glad I don't have to decide.
I think it's a hard decision. It kind of reminds me of Marc-André Fleury. Remember when everyone was saying he was cooked and done as an nhl starter ? Then he made it to the stanley cup finals in the first year of the golden knights. I think taking price puts them in win now mode. If they can build a team that can compete, they have a solid 3-4 years of being relevant imo with price on the team. Plus they don't have any bad contracts as of now except for price (depending on who they select), so when price's contract finishes they'll be alright. For montreal, if they keep him, they can continue to save price for the playoffs and try to compete for the stanley cup. If they lose him, they can start rebuilding fresh with weber who'll probably be out of the lineup .
The bigger question is. Who the f…. is Anthony Bruno?

Carey Price is who he is, and he's still got some play…but I wouldn't touch that contract with a ten foot pole. You'd have better value for the money if you took another goalie choice and then spend in free agency on a few missing pieces.
The Elf on The Shelf (Bergeron) is praying Seattle takes Price and his ridiculous contract off his hands. Habs miss the playoffs next year with or without him. Seattle is committing suicide by taking him unless they have a sucker lined up to trade him to.

I am kind of confused: wouldn't Seattle be able to use his LTIR money and use him in the playoffs, which would make taking him a no brainer?
Montreal is trying to weather a tough storm. But mind aswell commit to a rebuild because you have no hope in competing with this team in a regular division.
