  1. I think a lot of people will hate the 2nd round pick, but that's the cost to unload bad contracts.

  2. As long as we don’t have to give up picks to free up cap space too often, this is fine. When everyone’s healthy, there’s a bit of a logjam in the top 9, and we need the cap space to improve the D. I don’t like giving up picks to make the team better now, but as long as we’re not making this a habit, fine. The cap situation was getting dicey and that D still looks thinner than a plate of julienned carrots.

  3. Honestly I really hope Stillman is better than his stats suggest. Not so sure this trade changes anything.

  4. I only like the trade of it means we can sign Horvat, otherwise it will feel dumb in a couple years

  5. Also a 2024 pick probably won't play until 2027. Our window is kinda opening now and probably starting to close then

  6. well if the $1.3 million helps sign Kuz and or Bo I think it's worth it.

  7. when's the last time the canucks had everybody signed and 2.6 million in cap space in october? i see this as a cap move, not a player move,

  8. good deal,save 1.3 million on a player not worth a million..you get a defenceman with a bit of grit..great deal

  9. I think it was potentially a necessary trade for resigning top guys, but losing a 2nd in a deep draft is very concerning. I don't like it tbh

  10. While it's A Good Trade for both Chicago and Vancouver, I think that The Chicago Blackhawks Won. They get A Pick And A Bottom 6 Forward coming to Chicago for A D-Man that Never Panned Out

  11. Did you say Stillman is a Offensive Defensemen? His tough, gritty, and physical player. A two way defensemen then.

  12. Classic win-win, not a perfect fit for the Canuckleheads, not a guy that exactly set the world on fire lately for the Hawks.

  13. Should have been Myers for a 2nd knocking 6mill off the books. Dickinson Should have been a 3rd or 4th pick.

  14. A second round draft pick for Stillman? Seems good for the Canucks, who is a good depth DMan.

What are the chances that a second rounder will ever be a roster player? Maybe 3%?

Let’s go back to the 2019 second round… Nils Höglander is in that group and is almost a roster player… almost. And that’s the cream of the 2019 second round group. Giving up a second rounder for a near roster player seems pretty good to me…

  15. I wish it was a third, but if they actually do want to keep Kuz and resign Horvat, this won't be the last of small/medium trades to aquire space

  16. The only way to get out of the Benning mess, was to eat current deals and wait for contracts to expire….and above all, to keep and acquire picks. This move was beyond dumb…So you saved 1.3 mill in cap space…..WHAT DIFFERENCE WILL THAT MAKE??!!..This team is NOT a contender. This team is NOT a playoff squad!!…..What are you going to do with that cap space? Turn this into a playoff team??? NO!!! Needed the cap space for WHAT!!??….The only way out of the Benning years was to WAIT, be PATIENT…..This is just more Benning (Aqua) B.S…NOTHING has changed.

  17. If this means we have a better shot at signing Horvat or Kuzmenko then I like it
