Might as well….. worst thing to be is mediocre.
Leafs moved from picking 25th to 38th. Not a huge drop at that point in the draft. If that's the sweetener to trade Mrazek, then it's fine. I thought they'd have to give up a pick entirely or a prospect, so this is a win. Much needed cap space, hopefully they use it wisely, because there's still lots to do.
New GM in Toronto soon lol
Huge props to dubas for waiting it out and that opened an opportunity with Blackhawk to dump that salary. They might try Campbell resigning or attempt to get kumpher / husso .

Think about how many mistakes the Leafs have to fix. It was amazing that they were able to get out from under David Clarkson's contract, and Ottawa really helped Toronto by taking on Dion Phaneuf. There was Patrick Marleau, that cost the Leafs a first round pick (Seth Jarvis), now Mrazek, you go back further there were so many awful contracts, let's not forget when the Leafs gave us all the Finger, Jeff Finger. It's tough to cheer for this team, they keep giving me heartburn.

Unload Tavares and Kerfoot as well.Then look at Muzin as well to move.Then go for Gibson.I think they need Nylander in the faceoff circle.Toronto could be sitting with a considerable amount of space and no contracts coming up.And then be looking at a free agent around trade deadline this next season.Amd have the space to have one.

Blackhawks tearing it down and are openly saying they are committed to a 5 yr re build.
Its going to be interested to see what happens down the road here with some of those vets on trade able contracts.
They better get the team straighten out because my Colorado Avs are going to be tough and hard to beat during that 5 yr re build.

Best trade they could have ever done. Got rid of garbage for next to nothing. 13 spots in an average draft is a no brainer. Use that money to sign Campbell or go after keumper

its an OK move but essentially it is just Dubas covering for one of ( one of his many ) screw ups .If Mrazek stays healthy and returns to form ,this move could come back to bite the Leafs ,I think that Mrazek ( when healthy ) is a better talent than Campbell or they are at least at par

I hate the word tanking teams should always try to win you don't play the game to lose just because you get a high draft pick doesn't mean that pick will work out
