  1. A lot of tough guys on waivers tells the tale of the direction the NHL is going

  2. Just wait until tomorrow…. its for the teams who aren't anywhere near Cap compliant … Here's a question, is Myers a solid RD?? and would he fit on Otts?

  3. Charging is leaving your feet when checking a player. A fine comes because he didn't care if he injured the guy.

  4. I like the Kostin trade, 90 hits in 40 games… what would it have been in 82? Otts picked up prospect Hamara for the Rielly trade (I liked Havelid better, and SJS with history of scoring RDs chose another one), 1.00% cap compliant.

  5. If I was a cap floor type team, I'd grab Foligno. Upcoming UFA, the kind of player teams convince themselves they need in the playoffs… Great trade deadline ammo

  6. I hope Valimaki turns it around in Arizona. He just didn't work out in Calgary and got passed by a couple of guys.

  7. I understand with the cap constraints, but Simmonds at 900k is frustrating to see waived. If he gets claimed, it's brutally disrespectful to him.

  8. …. So we Can get Kempny back?? Oh wait, we don’t have any Cap space

  9. So, if you're telling me, mandatory cap compliancy is based on % of 82.5 because of contract %s (fluctuating as contracts age), you realize with Lehner's and Webber's discounts, Vegas essentially has 13% of Cap Hit available or just over 10 mil to make up just to get to 100% right. could be considered shopping day for some.

  10. That is a whole bunch of guys. It's always wild to see people picked in the 1st round that just aren't it. All that potential, the scouting and everything, and they're out.

  11. Not surprised Valimaki was claimed. Sad to see him go, but injuries hurt him and with the Flames defensive depth, it was hard for him to crack the lineup. All the best to him in Arizona and hpe he can still be a top 4 D man sometime in the league

  12. For Shannon and any non swedes, the name Blidh actually translates to "gentle, weak" in swedish, so despite it sounding fitting for hockey in english.. maybe not so much if you go by the swedish meaning.

  13. Not surprised by Hirose. Not surprised but disappointed by Givani Smith. Hopefully he ends up in Grand Rapids.

  14. Might have seen a couple of goals by Chinakhov when i was in Columbus. Safe to say i never want to hear that cannon again after that abyssmal game.

  15. If there's a team wiling to give Gauthier a spot to skate 15-18 minutes a night, it may be worth a shot. 6'4", 220 and can skate a bit. Pretty much knew the Rangers staff had its mind made up on Gauthier for a while, so it's not surprising they waived him.

  16. It pains me to see Klim Kostin go. But Armstrong has proven he knows how to build a team.

  17. Washington keeps on talking about adding youth, but they keep on sending players like Jonsson-Fjalby down to Hershey. Both Connor Brown and Dyland Strome had terrific pre-seasons, so I suspect Brian MacLellan and Peter Laviollete think that, with them and a couple of other veterans like Marcus Johansson, they have one last shot at the Cup before the Ovechkin/Backstrom/Oshie window closes. The Caps are, I believe, the oldest team in the league,so at some point you'd think they would bite the bullet and start trying to rebuild.

  18. Waiver roulette can be a real head spinner… this years been a bit wild for sure. This board … 😅 hilarious
