  1. Hi I am not upset about this trade I think it's going to be great I thought Dickinson should have gone a long time ago now we have a little calf space thanks for the video

  2. I think Chicago wins this trade because it’s exactly what they should be doing as a rebuilder. The Canucks are supposed to be building a contender and using assets like a 2nd round pick to get help for the playoffs at the trade deadline but instead they are having to pay someone to take on a bad contract from the previous regime… I would like to see what Stillman can do though, I don’t know enough about the player.

  3. I'm excited for the Canucks this year, I think they'll be a lot better than most people are expecting.

  4. Dickinson was awful last year, I felt bad for him but he didn't help the team, best of luck in Chicago!

  5. I like the move but it came with a high price a second pick something they said they wouldn't do ( trading or losing picks in the draft ). My concern is with Burroughs, Schenn and Stillman spending those 5 or 7 or longer minutes in the box when they are neeed on the ice especially if they have PK duties.

  6. Bettman has a private eye watching Shannon's house so the. NHL can release bad news only when he leaves.

  7. lmfao I love how I looked at her and you mentioned she's super excited 😄 😊 🤗 purrrfect timing Shannon 😹😹

  8. Very bitter sweet. Brings nice physicality, but a 2nd round pick comes in handy around the trade deadline… don’t mind the player- but it just goes to show how expensive it is to free up cap space.

  9. This is just more of the same with the Canucks. Poor management decisions to trade draft picks leads to a lack of prospects in the pipeline which leads them to make bad trades or free agent signings to fill in the gaps which leads them to trading more draft picks to get out from under those bad contracts, and over an almost decade-long span when they've been among the worst teams in the league, they're a net-negative in draft picks.

It's embarrassing – they traded a 2nd and a 3rd round pick for 62 games of Jason Dickenson and a tweener left shot defenceman (not a position of need – Stillman is behind Hughes, OEL, Dermott, and Rathbone on the depth chart). That's terrible.

  10. is there any article / video you would recommend to get a picture of what Vancouver's defensive depth currently looks like?

from my understanding, there's a bit of a glut of 3rd pairing d-men on the left, and still a lack on the right? or are they expecting one or several of the lhd to play on the right?

  11. Being in the City of Chicago. lm glad kitty is excited about the trade . Rocky Wirtz ' Wake up ! Make more trades ! Let's get to a competitive Level this year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. a good deal for the Canucks getting rid of another Benning contract and getting a depth defenseman

  13. I guess that explains why the Hawks recalled Isaak Phillips last night. I'm a little sad to see Stillman go, but he'll be better off elsewhere. Hopefully, Dickinson will benefit from the change of scenery, and maybe the additional playing time that might come with it. It looks like a good trade for both sides.

  14. I find it funny that everyone is talking about right handed D while the Caps put TVR, a right handed D on the left side all season long last season, pairing with Schultz, another right handed D XD

  15. First thing I thought of when I saw this trade was that the Canucks may be trying to move out contract to trade for Ethan Bear who of course is that RHD the Canucks are looking for.

  16. the Canucks acquired a player who makes his team actively worse… the Hawks acquired a player who doesn't move the needle, but also got a 2nd rounder. while the 'Nucks do save money against the cap, the Hawks committed highway robbery here

  17. Here's the new management group cleaning up another one of Dim Jim's many screw ups.
Benning trades a third for a guy to be the 3C when Dickinson has never been a good center in the NHL and picked up most of his points playing wing alongside Benn and/or Seguin on the Stars. Benning then pays middle six money for three years without Dickinson playing a single game and guess what? Paying JD 3C money didn't magically make JD a 3C or even a good third line winger so once again Benning is paying someone north of 2.5M to play on the fourth line at a level of a league minimum player.

Out: 2022 third round pick, 2024 second round pick

In: Riley Stillman aka 7/8 Dman on any playoff team

  18. And seeing this price should make Dorion extremely nervous about what he’s going to have to pay to dump Zaitsev.

  19. I'm so so happy Hawks are properly weaponizing the cap space. A huge part of the return for DeBrincat is all the cap space we get when cap space has literally never been more valuable

  20. I know on twitter Chicago fans were happy with the trade. And I am as well. It’s a good trade for both teams

  21. Ngl I love this trade I kinda hate that we gave away a little tooo much but shiiiiii 27 has been non existent on the lineup and in return we get a younger and more aggressive dman to fit into a bieksa type roll also he’s young and can grow maybe he turns into something great he is coming from Chicago witch wasn’t the greatest team sooo I’m hypeeeeee

  22. Fun fact : Riley Stillman is the son of current assistant coach to arizona (whom we played when the trade happened) Corey Stillman who played for Jim Rutherford's hurricanes back in 2006 and won a cup with that that team

  23. I have to think about this. My mind is on Towes and Kane. Chicago overpaid for Seth. Was he even in the top 15 for the Norris? SO he is not going anywhere ever.
2nd is great and Chicago has many D-men.

  24. So we gave the Hawks Dickinson's bounceback season and paid them a 2nd for a 7th LHD. Well done, Allvin. Can you bleed more draft picks like on Dermott?

  25. My question will Chicago be able to replace Stillman with a mid 2nd round pick. It doesn't bode well for the rest of the decade if they keep acting like their 22-25 year old players are going to age out of their primes by the time they win.

  26. Good on you Shanny for staying away from Twitter. Seems to be a very toxic place no matter what your point of view is.

  27. At this point of things any sort of extra cap-space and D help is worth the loss of Dickinson and a 2nd .

  28. Pretty steep price to pay to address a need on the backend. I guess Allvin didn't want to rely on the waiver wire to claim a fringe dman…
