Way way off on Girard and kadri, the chat and even you guys a bit. Girard is amazing but Kadri is infinitely more important to the Avs. 2 first lines with inter changeable pieces was incredibly massive. You can almost always keep both lines firing with that kind of a top 6. Girards iron man streak? Mute. I'm sorry it is. His two injuries? When we've needed him most, playoffs. He missed the Nashville series years ago when we really needed him. Is he durable? Sure, an iron man? No. Girard has very little value until one of our big 3 go down, then he has Infinte value, until then Manson has more value for us. Expect injuries absolutely, even at the wrong time. But the best second line center in the league? You do that if you can absolutely. Don't be fooled toews and Makar working together doesn't mean girard and Byram works together, that's just dumb. You split them up with EJ and Manson clearly.
Having 2 2nd pairs is amazing but it isn't the same as having 2 top lines.

Unless you really like newhook, and there is a dozen potential centers in their final year on iffy teams for the deadline. The only better guy to drop is JT, since newhook can fit in there. I assume they’ll play Sedlak considering they signed him early for next year. But you have Kaut/Olausson/Ranta/Maltsev to work through there to see if one of them fits in well, in case Sedlak doesn’t.
Worst case. Lines 1, 2, and 4 are dominant and 3 takes some months in the beginning of next season to iron out. But I think they have to give some of the youngers a shot to shine. If they fail. Cheap guy at the deadline is easy.
Willing to bet Mac signs a 8×10. He values winning and he knows gobbling up cap space hurts his chances to contend. I really don't think he's all about the contract $$. Besides, I guarantee the money he gives up on a lower contract will come back three fold in endorsements if he keeps winning.
