Vasilievskly the best goalie right now in hockey he will be at the end of his career top three if not top two if he wins his third one in a row
I'm perfectly fine with playing either Canes or Rangers, especially now that we get some rest. It would be great to get Point back, but even without him, I feel good about playing either. I think Rangers a a slightly better draw simply because Canes have good playoff experience and have played in Conference finals before. They can at least neutralize a little bit of the experience edge we have over the league.

Vasilevskiy in my opinion as a BOLTS fan is not a top five goalie of all time yet he’s definitely the best goalie in the world right now. Also I would say he’s the best post season goalie in the world right now obviously Shesterkin has a great freaking year buddy looks tired in the playoffs like I get it he’s tired Vasilevskiy doesn’t put up that like Vezina type save percentage in the regular season but he gets 39 wins for three straight seasons set an NHL record and once he gets to the playoffs once he gets to that game six against Toronto he flips that switch baby and once he flips that switch he is the most dialed in best goalie on the ice in the NHL
You can bet your ass though if he wins three straight Stanley cups and another conn Smythe which let’s face it: if the bolts win the cup this year Vasilevskiy’s getting the conn Smythe; unless someone’s just smoking crack and wants someone else to have it.
If he wins a third straight cup and a second conn Smythe he surpasses brodeur he surpasses Roy he is the best NHL goalie of all time. And if not the best he’s at least on the mount Rushmore of goalies of all time.

For me there are 3 reasons why Lightning swept Panthers.
1. Outcoached. Cooper showed why he is the best coach in NHL and why Brunette needs to learn more as a rookie/interim. Cooper knew what was the biggest strength of Florida, which was really fast tempo and just rush rush rush. He knew how to adapt every game, what players put on ice and when. Also Panthers seemed confused when Lightning were playing so many lines combinations because of 11/7 setup.
2. Bobrovsky was very good, but he ain't Vasy. He did not steal a game like Vasy did
3. Commitment. All the blocked shots by Tampa were amazing. It was not only defenders + Vasy. It was all team, every player was ready to sacrifce their body just to block a shot.

Fairly new to your channel and love your take on things. Now if we could get you on TNT instead of Biz ! As for round three, as a diehard Bolts fan since inception, I'd rather see the Rangers though I don't think they're going to make it through the Canes. I just feel Carolina plays a game very much like we do and it would be a tougher series for us with the Canes. End of the day though, I'm just happy our guys are going to get to rest up and heal up from all those blocked shots before we see whoever we see.
Thanks coach for the breakdown! A technical question: Once a goal has been reversed by a coach challenge, where does it stand in the statistics: shot? save? scoring chance? nothing at all? In many cases it is reversed because of a ruling that will consider the play being stopped before the shot was taken, in that case it's like the shot never happened. But in other cases like goaltender interference can you really consider that the shot never happened? Are there stats for disallowed goals?
The problem with playing against the Lightning is majority of the time you have to play a perfect game. TB can play a terrible game all game and still squeak out a victory just because of their shot blocking ability/Vasy.

Vasi is one hell of a goalie… but all goalies have a crux. All You can expect from a goalie is for them to actually steal one or two games per series. IMHO – Best Goalie ALL TIME- Grant Fuhr.. and GO Oilers Go McDavid As for the Panthers- Sorry but you are part of the President Trophy curse.. almost a decade the President Trophy Winner has never won a cup.. but they got valuable playoff experience for sure. I think the Bolts Might’ve actually done a little bit of sandbagging during the season so that they didn’t have to play the top team until the second or third round.

You said you started to pay attention when Tampa started winning. Tampa fans are the same way. I would go to games when they sucked. They would move us down from the nose bleeds to lower level behind bench to make it look full on TV. Vasi is elite yes, but the past two cups are not a good measure. First the bubble, then the shortened season with only playing 5 teams. Come on playing your division rival in the final is comical at best.

The combination of the Tampa defense and willingness to do WHATEVER it takes to block a shot and an eraser like vasilevskiy makes them nearly impossible to beat because they don't have to play a perfect offensive game to win and when they do make defensive mistakes, the alien is there as the final stage boss to make a stop… just ridiculous how well it all works together
Honestly, the way vasilesky's playing, if he has another two good seasons he could be in the goat conversation.
I think at some point, if you're good/consistent enough in the regular season (say, to all but guarantee your team will make ps provided they show up and play) the goat conversations really have to shift to playoff stats/analytics/accomplishments. Film studies matter too.
For example, Tampa's backup Elliot (who is still an excellent and accomplished goalie) had better numbers this season. At no point did he ever look as polished or instinctive, and no sane person would put him in the same ballpark as Vasy (health and age notwithstanding)
I moved to the Tampa area in 2012 ,,, I'm middle aged and grew up on long Island, 10 minutes away from the Nassau coliseum went to all the Parades and was a islanders fan,,,, life happens wife, kids,work, got away from hockey, (with all the BS politics with ownership) it wasn't hard,,,,, heard a local radio show first day I got here and they were going on and on how great the lighting (family)were to the community, the kids ,and of course the fans ,,, where I was coming from was the exact opposite,,,, so I started watching and learning about this unbelievably great group of people from the players, to the ownership to the guy taking you're ticket at the gate FIRST CLASS ,,, they don't bring any cancers into the circle,,,, this has been so much fun for me I wish I could find the words. #Go Bolts
The fact still remains…TOR and FLA need to figure out there defensive structure come playoff time. Granted…it took a while for the Bolts to figure it out…but (in the playoffs), you typically aren't gonna get into shoot-outs. Block shots. Block passing lanes. Sacrifice. Tampa has figured this out. FLA and TOR haven't.
Florida keeping the same roster would be a waste of 2-3 years. Pussy team ain’t winning shit.
