JT should be LTIR to be 100%, rather than be reinjured again to miss even more time.
Jt is smart enough with his body I think if he feels ready he is. Especially since he knows this is a rival game it's going to be chippier. As for Robertson in minors it was incredibly smart they avoid losing malgin and they've bought themselves valuable time and options. Between now and when liljigren comes back one or more leafs may get hurt and he can come up then. If no one gets hurt then the leafs will need to make room for lillypad and that probably means a trade to free up contract spot and cap room for liligren. There re both muzzin and Murray that are fairly injury prone so there are some pretty good chances there will be cap space for him in the future. This Robertson move is incredibly smart for a multitude of reasons and maybe while down in .inors he can play pk minutes too to get him some extra reps in defensive end.

I feel like controversy is slightly too strong. Malgin and Robertson both played well in the pre-season. They just went with the guy that played well and wasn't waiver eligible. Letting them keep both of them in the organization for now. Same amount of pre-season points (1 less game for Malgin). Malgin had one more goal, Robertson one more assist.
Robertson's future seems pretty simple to me. When there's an injury he'll be up. Or if Malgin struggles during the actual NHL season then Robertson will be up. Might also be up if there's a trade but that one ties more into how they feel about either Malgin or Robertson on the third line. No reason at all to move him. He's young, has potential, and isn't even running out of his current contract for a couple years.
