I’m in slovania – Where’s the in game highlights felllas?

  2. TimsAFK

Bo and Miller didn’t look great tonight.

Kuz looked solid, watching him will be fun this season.

Powerplay is an absolute shambles, 1/8 is pathetic. Against Jack Campbell no less. He’s not bad, but he’s not Shesterkin ffs.

Too many men calls will haunt us for the rest of our days.

The missed high stick on Hughes is bullshit, but ***the fact they didn’t blow the play dead when he’s down and bleeding is beyond fucked and frankly I’m more pissed off about that***

Edmonton also have some points to ponder after this, Game 1 and they’re stacking McDrai to generate anything, hilariously undisciplined, Campbell looks shakey (I hope Campbell does well, I genuinely like him).

    **In summary:**

    Game 1 panic forever,

    Powerplay goals never

    Wins soon.

    Edmonton can go fuck themselves

I want to see Podz with Petey and Mikheyev. Bo just doesn’t have the playmaking skills for Podz to grow this season. The best chances that line produced tonight was Podkolzin driving to the net (cause a PP) and a beautiful feed to Bo who proceeds to miss the net with a wild shot.

  5. TacoQueenYVR

Given the state of the special teams I can’t say more PPs would have helped but Jesus Christ reffing consistency isn’t even the fucking same within the same game, let alone season.

Acting like they didn’t see Hughes get high sticked is like some weird Just For Laughs improv skit where a blind man becomes a ref.

Totally unrelated to the actual game itself, but respect to the Oilers for not having uniform ads. Might not notice the Canucks helmet ad at first, but when you see a shot of an Oiler helmet and it’s an **Oilers logo**, it feels ridiculous. Watched Montreal-Toronto earlier, and both uniforms are an absolute joke now. Montreal’s is particularly bad.

I get that some people can’t bring themselves to care, but like… why defend this? I don’t get it, man. It’s bush league. It looks so awful.

  7. MikaelDerp

We went 1/8 on the powerplay and let in 3/4 on the PK. We deserved to lose, but I think the game would have been different if not for that bullshit goal where Huggy got high sticked. Until that point we were dominating, after that everything unraveled.

  8. BulwarkNuck

I can’t be too depressed about this L. Would’ve been way worse if we played poorly but this was a prototypical 6-1 game that they somehow ended up losing. And that’s just hockey. The real depression is gonna set in if they show up to the next game all doom and gloom and don’t build on this performance because they had some bad luck in the season opener.

  9. coleramsay

Why did i get excited for the season. Fuck the oilers. Fuck Caveman McDavid. Fuck the refs. The turning point of the game was that high stick on Hughes. Bleeding on the ice and they score. Major fuck up by the refs. Miller missed an open net and sucked ass on the powerplay. Hoglander cant finish for shit. Poolman looks like shit. Joshua got bodied all game and didnt stick up for anyone or throw any solid hits. The fuck are we doing out there. Peteys line cant carry us to the playoffs alone for god sakes.

  10. Sedinery_14

Different year, same bullshit. Wake me up when this team is anywhere close to good.

  11. coleramsay

Kuzmenko makes Boeser look like Dickinson out there

  12. Specialist-Idea-5396

I really liked seeing Edmonton get swept by Colorado last year

  13. shadownet97

I thought we were done with Baumgartner penalty kills.

  14. Randall_stephens_87

Holy fuck. It’s the first game fellas. Time to take a break from your sitting in your moms basement while she does your laundry and cooks you dinner.

  15. Horvat53

Horvat didn’t look great tonight. I’m getting kind of tired of his lack of play making ability. Power play was not great, wasn’t threatening enough and they have to really do a better job of not letting the puck exit the zone. Petey looked good, Demko was amazing, D looked fine. Canucks had a couple unlucky situations.

    TILLLLTTTTTTTTTTT YOUR FACE OFF

  17. Friendly-Canuck

Nice to see our PK and D reverted back to Greens system…

  18. LittleDogPockets

Boeser might actually be a cap dump at this point.

  19. Snowy--Lynx

Ugh, it’s always frustrating when we blow a lead. Sick of McDavid.

  20. humble_beeeee

I sure wouldn’t want to be in that locker room

  21. Black___Yoda

McDavid so fun to watch but I hate when Nucks play against him. Plays like 25 minutes a game and never slows down. McDavid and Draisaitl carried the Oilers tonight… or like usual I guess.

  22. nite_awol

Bo is at his best in post game interviews when we lose. Buddy is a cliché machine despite being a non factor in the game.

  23. tannerisBM

Bad news is… we lost. Good news is… bedard will look phenomenal in a Canucks jersey.

  24. humble_beeeee

Death, taxes, and the Vancouver Canucks

  25. burdsandwich

It’s nice to have Canucks hockey back

  26. PhraseSubject

I know Boeser is coming off a surgery but damn did Boeser look slow tonight. that Miller-Boeser-Pearson line generated nothing offensively.

  27. -ACSlayer-

Brutal way to lose the opener, outplayed them and found a way to lose.

If the team wants to go anywhere they have to start cutting the throat of division rivals, and Edmonton is one that we just can’t give games to

  28. phantompowered

How is it the first game of the season and I’m already so sick of the Oilers

  29. HenrikFromDaniel

hopefully #ourpursuit is not prophetic because if we play half games like that we’re going to be chasing a lot this season
