Happy 25th anniversary to the Hurricanes
I just wanted to pop in and say tonight felt different to me. It felt full circle for me. My first hockey game, at the age of 4, was in 2003 at what was the RBC Center, now PNC Arena, here in Raleigh. All I remember from that game was Clay Aiken (gee anybody remember him?!) singing the anthem wearing a Canes jersey. To see the same jersey on the ice, in person, for the first time since then (2007-13 doesn't count because that was the Edge version with the white outline) meant the world to me. The team put out a very touching tribute video on twitter for this season (link to it below) and in many ways I've kinda lived that out. I'm only a couple years younger than this team but I love the Carolina Hurricanes with all my heart. Tonight was special getting to see these jerseys on the ice for the first time since I was a kid and I dearly hope they keep them forever
