  1. Happy O Canada Day, Shannon! As a kid my first commercial jet trip remember landing in Montreal en route home to Vt..could see the fireworks out my window because it was July 1…not called Canada Day then! 💫

  2. Firing a coach just before the draft, rather than immediately after the season seems ill timed. Maybe it's not the players but the front office that have held the Sharks back.

  3. feel kinda bad for bob but he's getting paid no matter what

Paul is such a glue type player. excellent move

  4. Olivier is a good player and an original member of the predators identity line with sissons and trenin and when he got hurt tanner jeannot slid in his spot and took oliviers spot. I like the trade for nashville cause there simply wasnt a spot for him here anymore and im sure hes going to get consistent playing time in columbus

  5. This has to be one of the highest turnover of coaches in a season (including new coaches coming in mid-last-season, like Boudreau) ever… Wow, the hits just keep on coming. 😮

  6. Good move for the Lightning signing Nick Paul, especially if Ondrej Palat moves to another team.

  7. According to Bruce Garrioch, Ottawa had offered Nick Paul four years at $2.6M per. The cap hit doesn't seem that far off, but it really is a much better contract from what he was offered in Ottawa

  8. I was fine with Bob for the upcoming season, but I did not want him as anything beyond that. He didn’t play younger players enough or would cut their minutes when they made small mistakes. That is much less of a problem when there is a veteran team making a legit push. However, SJS are in some strange re-something and need a youth push. The kids that are in the system need to be able to play, make mistakes and grow properly. Let’s hope the new GM (I’m expecting a THG video on that soon) will hire a coach that will help nurture the kids.

  9. Nick Paul's been excellent, the big guy who grinds things out and has some offense. Love the work ethic…

  10. A bit surprised on the timing for Boughner. It’s not really his fault, but something needs to change. I wanted Kevin Weekes GM and Paul Maurice coach if they fired Boughner, but Maurice was hired before Boughner fired, and doesn’t sound like Weekes is in on the job for GM

  11. I'm really hoping Boughner being fired means they have their GM figured out and that was a first move for them. God I hope there's a plan here. Only time will tell, there's no way for anyone to really know right now. This next season could be a new beginning, or it could just mean further spiraling downward.

  12. Happy Canada Day Shannon. Hope you and your family have a great long weekend.

  13. I was bummed to see mathieu joesph traded, he was just snake bitten this season playing in tampa and I hope the best for him in ottawa hopefully in a more prominent role…

That being said, nick paul has quickly become one of my favorite players in the NHL. The man is relentless and as they say nick paul really can do it all.

  14. They couldn't have done this weeks ago when there were more good coaches on the market? Leave it to the Sharks to be constantly tardy in their decision-making.

  15. Yeah I am an egomaniac American I guess I admit, because I didn't remember it was Canada Day at all. lol Not that its a comparison because Canada's independence is more important, but I also forgot about Columbus Day most of the time the last several years no matter what name you want to call it. I do remember St. Patrick's Day, and not because I am Irish or a drunk, and its also my youngest cousins birthday. And Valentine's Day is my brothers birthday so theres that too. I have to remember that day for other reasons too. Father's Day actually traces its origins here to Spokane if you didn't know, and I never forget that or Mothers Day. Its pretty much just Columbus Day I forget and a lot of people want to change its existence anyway or change the name and reason for observing it. Which I don't disagree with, even the Vikings came to Newfoundland before Columbus which is part of the new world and counts as being first to me, so he wasn't even the first from Europe.

  16. Nick Paul got took to the woodshed on that deal 3.15 for 7 yrs 22 mill. He could have got a 4 yr 5 mill deal anywhere else hahahah what a chump er even more too bad Tampa isn’t a real team just Covid cup n short szn cup winners

  17. I’ll disagree with signing someone to 3 million for 7 years. That’s way too long for me… not that it’s wrong, I just don’t like it and I think it will age poorly. It’s like saying he’s worth 5mil for 4 years… don’t think so.

  18. The Paul signing was a great move for us. Dude pulled his weight and will be ready to earn his keep now that he is paid and settling for a few years now.

  19. Good signing for TB for sure.. Always liked NP defensive game but was happily surprised about his offensive side.
Waiting on Avs now on what they gonna do.. Hehe..

  20. Good pick up for the Blue Jackets, Olivier is a tough player who can produce as well! Congrats to Nick Paul as well, I already miss having him on the Sens!

  21. Well, we might as well complete the trilogy and sign another ex-Panthers head coach. Sharks aren’t the Panthers but I think Brunette would be a big upgrade over Boughner, especially if the new GM makes the team better.

  22. Boughner getting fired is two long years too late. Just glad it finally happened. I liked him for a bit but he has a losing record over 6 years with the panthers and sharks. At some point that’s the coaches fault. He’s close to being a good coach, but his overall record is a little heavier on the loss side

  23. Coming from a Vegas “knights” fan, something is up with the sharks as a whole
Either the front office or management

  24. I hope the Sharks who were fired were fired because of what they did to Kane.
They made him play in the minors then kicked him to the curb.
He was picked up by the Oilers and was the top goal leader in the post season.
Play offs are more important than virtue signalling.

  25. I think it's a brilliant contract. By the time it might start to sour, the Bolts will have to have started a rebuild anyway.

  26. Hope Shannon and his family got to enjoy the Canadian day 🙂 Thanks for continuous hockey grinding news!!

  27. Sharks org has been a dumpster fire. Should’ve let Bob go at the end of the season for performance, instead they spent weeks over analyzing things. So glad to have Mike Grier here to start running things.
