Well we can say that the flames looked good with the caveat being colorado played last night and had to travel to play us today while they are also experiencing injuries from the cup run hampering there lineup. There were multiple times tonight where colorado could have taken advantage of us and they failed to execute which is somewhat expected and fortunate for us from a team with tired legs. We're talking about the rantanen empty net, an uncharacteristic shorthanded debacle gift from colorado, a free break from a deflected shot with a guy just stepping out of the box the other way as they were starting to shift momentum in the game. Then you have moron Eric Johnson taking a cross checking penalty to end the 2nf period when they were already down 3-1 which ended up giving us the 4-1 lead in the third and the extra powerplay chance after to go up 5-1. If not for that Eric Johnson penalty they would have came back to make it 3-3 and it's anyone's game from there. Encouraged by the win but it was a scheduled loss for them to be honest especially when they are still injuried in key spots.
