Kinda expected cossa going down because of brattstrom and the Finnish gold medal goalie who’s name I’m not going to attempt to spell. Disappointing for kirill really thought he had some special traits last preseason.

Makes sense, he’s proved all he can at the CHL level, there are holes in his game as well as better options at the AHL level.
Europe doesn’t really make sense at this time and you don’t want him to have to adapt to new angles/larger ice for a year to then re-acclimate to NA ice.
Gut feeling is half a year in the Coast and some move will be made to get him in GR to end the year assuming he plays well in Toledo, it’s a step up in competition he has it in him to succeed and Walleye games are more packed than some AHL and this year Arizona Coyote games too so it’ll be a good experience for him.

Being from Toledo I personally am very excited for this!
Preseason starts tonight for the Walleye in Kzoo, then tomorrow night at home in Toledo.
He’s still going to see action immediately.

This is the correct move. I mean we were hopeful that cossa could already hack it in the AHL but goalies progress slow; especially the huge ones.
He will get big minutes in Toledo and be close so that the wings can be much more involved in his development.
Just looking at google maps Toledo looks closer to Detroit than GR so i guess less mileage for our development gang who i am very sure will be down there checking on him often.
