Never a bad idea to throw the letter on true veterans in the lineup. I can’t complain.
Always been a bit leery of it. I don’t think it should be a free agent signing on their first season.
And it shouldn’t be like what Cheli says… the best player(s).
It should be the best leaders that have some team longevity already and expect to have more.
My personal beliefs aside, with so much change in personnel and coaching this season…I’ll allow it.
You could tell from the moment they were signed both of them were going to be very important players. This is an all around great sign for the team.
Edit. Lalonde mentioned the team having a large group of leaders in his recent media rounds. I could have easily seen any of Bertuzzi, Hronek, Seider, Copp get a letter.
