I feel like chicago wants to just hit as close to cap floor as they can to tank for bedard and get a fresh start with all new contracts. Clean start get all the stink out
I'm a hawks fan and originally I was pissed off about the return for the debrincat trade. It makes more sense seeing as debrincat will be a UFA after next season, if Ottawa had the opportunity to talk to debrincat and get a 7 year extension sorted out the return would have been alot. I highly doubt debrincat will want to sign a long term extension with the Sens.

the Blackhawks are positioning themselves to draft the next special generational players for their team. It’s similar to the way they built their championship team: from 02 – 05 drafting cornerstones like Keith, Seabrook Corey Crawford, Hjalmarsson and Stanley Cup building blocks like Bolland, Brouwer, Bickell, Burish before eventually drafting their generational players in 06 & 07 in Toews and Kane.
