New season, brand new lines, with lots of young players. They got this; but like Miles said, they need to start getting in front of people and being a bit more aggressive.
Tomorrow, the Devils will try to bounce back from their embarrassing loss to the Flyers, earn their 1st W of the season and even up their record at 1-1 when they play host to the Red Wings in their home opener.
“The emotion of losing, is a good thing…” are you frickin serious, Lindy? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are about to see what having a GREAT GM, with a well coached team looks like tomorrow night. Final: 5-1 Wings. Bank on it.
wood might take some heat for his comment but its true!! Our top lines cant throw a check. At the very least, they can chip at the sticks and try to create a defensive play!
Miles is not mincing words (or too many things with his chops these days). He's not wrong. He sees exactly what Fitz sees. The team either has to get tougher, or trades need to happen to reconstruct the roster deficits in that area. They play too soft, even for a speed team. The young guys have to buy in and commit to that style a bit more if they want to win more than they lose.
This team needs to stop being soft like miles said. Been a problem for a years now. Also the lack of scoring on good oppurtunities is still a big problem thats has also been an issue for years..

They sound defeated already 😔

Hockey is a game of grit and grinding.
Throw zetterlund and Bahl in the line up and get fired up for Detroit. Enough of this soft hockey getting bullied around.
Get some confidence and stay confident.
Yes…finish your checks. Most players fail to do that the past years! Let’s turn it around Saturday Devils!
If they aren't ready and play sloppy tomorrow, Ruff needs to go. I hope he gets the boo birds tomorrow during team introductions.

Lindy is insane lol "lot of good in that game: no there wasn't we were completely outplayed on every level
I've heard enough. Give Wood the C right now.
"We are pretty soft up front. We got pushed around…" – M. Wood
Thank you for the no bullshit answer.
Lindy Ruff is an old geyser and should go far away looking like a crippled ninety year old
He's right. If only he stopped committing dumb penalties, he could be a leader
More shots means nothing when they aren't good scoring chances. Most shots were from far out with no one blocking the goalies view.
Devils will never be better until they admit where they consistently fall short.
Nothing about MB being a sieve?
They were a step behind because they were getting pushed around. Hughes missed the net on good opportunities a couple of times.
"OUR GOALTENDER IS GONNA GIVE US THE SAVE." You gotta be kidding.
