  1. Ah yeah the powerplay will be fine, totally, that's why they went 1/8 in this game and like 1/10 in the game before it. Not only did they go 1/8 they even let in a shorthanded goal. 5on5 is the part that looked good if anything, Pettersson's line dominated in 5on5.

  2. After watching the refs help McSuoerhuman Poster Boy again for the 20th time in a row, i'm done with hockey. I'll never watch another NHL game again. Even if the Canucks do make the playoffs. The government does enough lying and gaslighting, i don't need to take it from a sports entertainment company masquerading as a real sport.

  3. Horvat is a good player but is not worth J.T. Miller's salary.
As for the Canucks' defence corps, it simply isn't good enough to compete in the very competitive western conference in its current form.
So as things stand right now, if the Canucks make the playoffs it's unlikely they get past the first round anyway unless they make more changes to improve their roster.
If the Canucks and Horvat can't agree to a contract extension, the Canucks would be wise to trade him away earlier in the season and name J.T. Miller the new captain, as opposed to waiting until the trade deadline when most of the regular season is already in the books.
If I were GM of the Canucks, a one-for-one deal between the Canucks and the Jets to send Bo Horvat to Winnipeg in exchange for Mark Scheifele would be a deal that I would sign off on pretty quickly if it were offered to me.

  4. Yup – Miller was overused in Edmonton. Ended up dragging himself around in the third.

  5. Lmfao drance, horvat might be a number one C on Arizona if anywhere… we all know he a 2C at best and not worth 7+… but hey that’s just my two cents… 6×6.5 seems decent for horvat…

  6. Horvat has some characteristics of Trevor Linden – he rises to the occasion to score some big goals, wins you the most important faceoffs, and works his tails off killing penalties. But like Linden, he should not be expected to carry the team offensively (I would argue Linden is actually more reliable to score a big goal when the team needs him to). He will be a cornerstone for this team centering the second/third line when you have the likes of Miller and Petey here. If this means a contract for him would be too costly, then I'd say we need to explore a trade to get the team some help on D, which really looked shaky against Edmonton the other day.

  7. Last season Horvat was 49th among centers in points, 78th among centers in even strength points and he has never had more than 61 points and that was 4 years ago. I like Bo and he brings other things to the table, BUT to me that is not the numbers of a first line C

  8. While getting favorable treatment from the officials, that missed call on Hughes turned out to be a difference in the game. Momentum shifted to Edm and the meltdown began. As many fans probably anticipated, I assumed also they'd likely lose and was emotionally prepared. What I didn't forsee, was the false hope I'd get from an early 2nd period 3-0 lead. Losing then, coupled with the pivotal game changing missed call, was a major bummer. Fortunately, this was the first of 82.

  9. Horvat's agent will push hard on the leadership card, but at the end of the day, how much more are they asking for leadership qualities…

  10. I think it's important to ask the question: are the teams in which Horvat would slot in as their 1C actually willing to pay Bo 1C type money? Cause if not…
