This isn’t really researched or thought out. Easy for Kakko or Lafayette to 2nd line right wing. They tried and it hasn’t worked. Copp and Strome are UFA’s. Haven’t even touched the RFA’s. Bottom line is Rangers are pretty cash strapped. Also our GM is Chris Drury. Lol
Copp and Schiefele will never happen unless the Rangers move Trouba Kreider or Lindgren in the deal for him. We don't have the cash to pay both of them. Only way they get Schiefele is if Copp and Strome both walk and if they do I think the Rangers are more hesitant to trade a guy like Chytil. I see it as highly unlikely that he ends up a NYR.
Copp makes 5 mil per year and needs a new deal this year. Strome makes big coin as well!
The whole point to trading Scheifele if they do trade him would be to open cap space to resign Dubois.
Also: Why would the Jets trade for a player that is a free agent this summer when they can sign him for free!?

Strome is out. We're keeping Copp.
We have an issue with Kakko because hes been injured all season and when he does come back again for the post season we dont really have space for him now other than the 4th line, so he might not play at all. Our fourth line we rotate in and out Brodzinski, Reaves, Rooney, Hunt. Sammy Blais would be down there but hes out for the season with the knee injury from Subban I believe.
Gordon is out as GM Drury has been GM since the off season.
I'd love Schiefele for our second line center/RW to rotate with Copp when kicked out for draws. Strome has missed a few games but only has like 20 goals after playing with Panarin all year and being on basically the best PP unit in the league with Kreider.
As aforementioned, Strome we probably aren't going to pick back up, or we'll sign him and trade him I think. Kakko could be a piece just because we don't have space for him on the team and it'd be in both parties favors to move him. We still have Kratsov on paper as well. And young guys on D coming up like Nils Lundqvist. We have cap space too but we do have some resignings to make. Our clubs frequently trade so you know they have good communication too. So maybe.
It’s not worth discussing summer stuff before the playoffs.

As a Jets fan who simply watched the Jets get outplayed in the last 10 days which sums up the season. Wheeler is saying "Blame Me" & I really hope the Jets DON'T trade who may be our best player and would rather see them regroup and try again next year instead of getting rid of him. Let's NOT trade who may be our best player away hoping that whatever they get back will just automatically make the Jets a playoff contender – I hate that about trades when they're reported and how the players are perceived as they could singlehandedly win the team a Stanley Cup. It's ridiculous and more often than not it's false. I hope the Jets regroup and read Mark Messier's memoir No One Wins Alone.
Where does New York have the cap space,I don't think so they will probably sign Copp and move Strome plus Kaako and Kravtsov.

I’m a jets fan I want lafreniere ! They don’t have to sign copp! I say lafreniere because he’s an entry level and he doesn’t have a no trade clause ! No trade clauses is a huge problem for Winnipeg,I don’t think trouba would come back to Winnipeg!I think copp signs with Detroit !

I fully support trading Scheifele. I believe he is a real problem. I would propose a trade to the Rangers for Braden Schneider + Chytil. Jets needs a tough, rugged top-pairing RD.
Gallant has a style of play, physical, aggressive forechecking and everyone working hard all over the ice, offensively and defensively. Schiefele doesn't play that way and isn't a fit for the scheme, Copp is a much better fit and has shown how good he can be if played up in the lineup with the offensive stars. Strome will walk and the Rangers will re-sign Copp to Center the Panarin line.
Schneider isn't going anywhere, the Rangers traded up to get him and love his style.
