The only way I see that happening is if we sweeten the deal. While Miller is fantastic and I’d argue a top ten forward in the league, top pairing right hand D are a premium. 1-1 would be lovely but I think there would have to be an exchange of prospects or picks to make it work. Miller likely only has 3-4 years as a top player. Dobson could be good for upwards of 7-9. While I would love that from a Canucks perspective, without something more I don’t see it happening. Perhaps Rathbone and or one of their young forwards. Maybe Myers for one of their ageing forwards and one of their bad contracts. 🤷🏻♂️

it would be nice if all the jt miller non fans weren't aloud to cheer when he scores for the Canucks since they want him gone so bad.
I would do this deal straight up if I am the Canucks brass, but I don't see the Islanders being fleeced like that… Even if both players agree to an extension before the trade happens, Dobson has not even entered his prime yet, but Miller is already in the middle or late in his prime… unless the Islanders feel they are just one forward away from contending (which I don't see), why would they trade away their long-term future for a short-term gain?

I've been campaigning for a straight up Dobson for Miller trade since before the draft. I don't see how Islanders add anything cause as soon as they said Dobson was available, the Canucks would have that trade signed, sealed and delivered before Lou could change his mind. There's no way they'd have the guts to try get Dobson +. Absolutely no way. I highly doubt Dobson himself is even available, but hey, we can dream.
Just wanted to point out a correction on one of the graphics shown early in the video. It stated that "JT" is short for Jonathan Tanner but in fact it is short for Jimothy Timothy.
One for one I agree with that. This kid can only go up if he's playing for Vancouver. But first round draft pick to boot no way. New York needs a heavy point scorer to get anywhere. Man for man trade is worth it to both sides.

Unless the return for Miller is substantial (which is unlikely) I don’t understand the apparent urge to move him. Guys a cornerstone in the locker room already, then goes out and puts up 100pts, and ppl want to ship him off. Say “oh we need draft picks, he’s too old for our core”… Honestly unless picking 1st.. no one knows how a pick will pan out. Even if one does, by the time he’s likely to hit his stride, the young core we’re referring to now will be at the age JT is. So then we’ll ship them out too? Players like JT don’t grow on trees. Sometimes u gotta appreciate what u have.
