@Avalanche du Colorado

1. Solid B in my opinion. Which I think speaks volumes about the Avs. They can beat "champ"a bay while not playing at their full potential. I definitely think rust was a factor but they will only get better from here. Prediction: Avs in 6. Let's FREAKING go!!!!!!!

  2. the main thing for me is what happened in period 3. the lightning were able to get their trap going which caused the avs to dump it into the corner only to get pushed off the puck or fail to retrieve it for the lightning to then counter attack. they also were doing a decent job keeping the avs to the perimeter when the avs did get set up in the offensive zone.

on the other hand the avs shut down the lightning's in the defensive zone very effectively so the avs were still in control. the avs looked good for a team that has had a lot of time off 🙂

  3. There's a great chance we F sweep these fools.. don't forget how fast and good we are 👌

  4. Solid B game grade here! Face offs were horrible! We slacked in the 2nd period we can’t do that. Vasileski will not be as easy to score on next game! Fan from day 1 here of the Avalanche.

  5. I would like to see Maltsev or Kaut replace Nicolas Aube-Kubel who focuses on forechecking but produces no offensive whatsoever as witnessed by his ZERO goals and assists during the 13 playoff games he played in. If Kaut went 13 games without producing a single point on such a high scoring team as the Avs, he would have been sent down to the AHL long time ago.

  6. AJ andre went down in butterfly as if he was going to face a Nichushkin shot because of two things. one after the headman shot block compher immediately drove the net to act as a screen and bang her home guy for a rebound. Two, Nuke settled the puck first and a goalie reads that plus a drive to the net by compher as probably a shot coming so the natural butterfly in him came out and had him instinct drop. Because of the combined actions of compher and Nuke he wasn't as focused on Burky who was sliding in late and slightly out out of his attention based on the Nuke and compher actions.

  7. When makar gave that up on the 2 on 2 that just happens a lot to players. Right in front of the goalie is tough. He's confident he can take a pass away and he spaces himself within stick range of the goalie , and it goes as close to Kuemper as possible, on the edge of Cale's range and his stick doesn't quite get there in time. It happens, joining hips with palat is a better idea than relying on intercepting the pass, but it's Makar, it made enough sense and just didn't work out that time. Not his best night but he's good for it.

  8. yes. beat them at their own game. the avs are capable of playing a more patient style of hockey. as long as they. pound the tampa offensive zone in the 3rd PERIOD. Not just the first and second.

  9. I was born in 87 and grew up here in Colorado so the Avalanche were a part of my childhood. It was huge. It got everyone here pumped about hockey. We played roller hockey like crazy and a park nearby even put in a roller hockey rink that we used constantly. My dad even pulled out a generator and lights for us to play on summer nights. My brother built awesome pvc goals with fish netting. That all happened because of the Avalanche. Now, I'm turning my wife into an Avs fan. We had to have a plumber come to fix some flooding the other day and we got into a conversation about how he grew up in Michigan and the rivalry. I guess a high school there dedicated an entire day of history class for seniors to the Avs Red Wings rivalry. I will always love the Avs.

  10. I couldn't agree more with Jesse about gate-keeping. I'm an Avs fan because when I was 9, a friend was pumped about the Avs 2001 playoff run. I didn't know the rules, but started following in the LA Kings series and was hooked immediately. It's such a phenomenal sport to watch, especially with talent like the Avs have now and had in 2001. Tell your friends; share the cup run. This is how lifelong fans are made and how hockey grows. Hockey and this team in Denver deserve more fans and more recognition and I welcome every new fan with open arms. Welcome to the most exciting show in pro sports!

  11. The Avs non sellout was because they dynamically priced the tickets the entire time and lowered day of, but not soon enough. They had a ton of 100 level left for $700+ that they never sold. Avs got greedy AF for the finals. Kroenke has to capitalize on those profits. If this was the Rangers, we would've seen 30-50% Rangers fans in there.

Glass seats actually started at $7500, went down to $5500 to $3500 to $2250. Directly from the Avs, not "ScALpErs".

  12. watching old videos reminded me of how dominant the first group was. For the first eight years the Avs were just SO much better than everyone else. The expectation was Cup or Bust. The Avs got the best free agents, best rentals, and sold out every game. There were 4-5 teams that owned the NHL and the Avs were one of them. This core is starting to look similar.

  13. I believe that Cogliano is ahead of Kadri in being able to return. If Kadri's shooting ability and faceoff ability is compromised he could be a liability at this point. Would love to see him on the ice if he can 'perform'…

  14. I'd like to see a more solid point to point passing and also keeping the puck in the zone. There were a few bounces over sticks at the points and I see Tampa pouncing on those – danger

  15. I think they should keep pushing the pace, I think TB can keep up with the pace for at most half the game but if you keep pushing they will get pucks , look at the OT goal,,, as for Kuemper Jesse I get that Vas allows those bad goals but that’ shouldn’t be the focus the 1st goal should of been stopped all he had to do was but his blocker down there’s no way Paul lifts that puck with all that’s happening,,, don’t worry about what Andre does or doesn’t do just do what you need to , all I ask of Kuemper is not to allow bad goals and lose the games for the Avs he doesn’t have to be Andre or Roy,,,

  16. Nuke was awesome all game and shooting everything. I honestly think vasy was expecting shot based on the previous 60 minutes from nuke.

  17. Study the 2nd and 3rd line schemes of TB better to win game 2. Go ballistic if you feel it.

  18. love those huge chain logos, would love to get my hands on one of those, for years I been trying to get ppl into watching ice hockey esp avs and being in UK the puck drop times are just not realistic for them, I also get looked at like an alien while I been going to work in my avs jerseys its funny AF 😂😂😂
