The Isles needed an easy opponent to get things going, and the Ducks were it. Anytime you score 7, you did good. I'll hold off on celebrating the 'new' Isles for a few weeks. They have the Rangers coming up, and the goals won't come so easy.
I like Lane so far. He said he wanted faster transitions, and he sure got them. Salo was in, which surprised me a little. I guess he has more patience than me, and Salo looked much better defending. Once it got to 4-0, the Isles really loosened up their defense and it became a run and gun style hockey game. I hope they don't make that a habit. '
I'm still not sold on Palmieri on the Barzal line. To be honest, I would rather see him with Nelson, and Beau with Barzal and Parise. Lane is still working things out, so we'll see where they all stick.
Wahlstrom with under 10 minutes is an issue. Both his linemates had over 14. With his shot, he should at least be getting time on the 2nd power play unit. Hope Lambert rewards his play and gives him more ice time against the Sharks.
