  1. Sergie Fedorov would play defense from time to time and this is what He would do, His skating ability allowed him to simply skate the puck out of his own end
He won the Selke trophy a couple of times for that reason being a good defensive forward. He also one NHL'S fastest skater a couple of times, great hockey player!!!!!

  2. You must be Fu–ing Nuts. Bobby Orr CHANGED the game of Hockey. Cale Makar is just another Wannabe. If Makar played in Orr's era, he would have been destroyed.

  3. Dunno why this popped up amongst all my baseball content. But the video is great and engaging. I don't know anything about hockey but I might watch a game or two now

  4. as an Oilers fan, Makar is SOOOO good ( MacKinnon too! )ho got mad they won lmao. They worked the hardest and earned the CUP. sucks oilers couldn't pull through BUT they won the battle of alberta so thats all that matters to me hahahaha.

  5. sorry guy. there is nothing new there that those guys you mention at the first are not doing. They all do the same thing.

  6. He looks like Erik Karlsson from 8 years ago. I don't see anything ground breaking here. Kid is clearly a super star. But i wouldn't say anything he does hasn't been done before.

  7. I really enjoyed this video! Awesome clip selection to visually demonstrate your analysis! Makar will go down as one of the great defenceman and maybe hold the title of best defenceman of his generation, but I think to assume he will be the greatest of all time there’s a lot of hockey that will have to be played to take the crown hold currently by Bobby Orr (followed by Ray Bourque, Nicklas Lindstrom and Doug Harvey)

  8. Don’t jinx him, that speed and quickness can evaporate quickly these days.

  9. Great vid, I remember the first time I watched Makar for Canada world Juniors, it was clear he would be at this level.. mmmmmmmmmAKAR

  10. Not gonna lie like McDavid or Patrick Kane I don’t think you can do anything to stop this man

  11. He reminds me of Bobby Orr but with Crosby’s edge control.

  12. Iv always been an advocate for using Defensive Forwards in a Defenseman Role at times. Take a Shutdown Penalty Kill Wing and move him back…haven't seen it used much in real life, but works great in video games and it did work in lower level hockey growing up. We begged our coach to do it for quite awhile and our winning percentage went up drastically when he caved and tried it out.

  13. Lowkey that’s kinda funny, idk why y’all are "terrified", it’s a bit weird but they both (idk abt the wife) grew over that need to impregnate in order to stay in love.

  14. What's wild is that Makar is still a young player. The more experienced he gets, the more dangerous he's gonna be.

  15. Maker is not
" Changing" the game for Dmen..Bobby Orr did that a long time ago. I give it too you. This kid is the next great start in the NHL ! He's awesome. But, what he's doing Orr did 60 years ago .

  16. I said Makar is literally the next Bobby Orr after his first few NHL games in the playoffs, of 18/19. And got laughed at. But people don’t understand why Bobby Orr was so revolutionary, it was purely his skating ability that led every assist, or goal of his.

But one thing, you using that thumbnail ‘this is going to change the game forever’ with steep edge use….that’s been done for years man. The guys who are natural skaters always have that edge work, the thing is, a lot of those amazing skaters never make it to the NHL because they lack other abilities and/or aren’t committed to playing hockey as a career. Go to any small town rink in Canada and you will find a few guys that are absolutely unreal skaters.

  17. Sorry, Orr will never be duplicated. Orr could basically kill a 2 minute penalty by himself. Won the scoring title, which no defenceman had done or has done since, etc. Makar is unique, but is still not the greatest defenceman of all time.

  18. Erik Karlsson was all of this and more. One cut achiles later and his explosive skating was never the same. But all the things used to describe Makar is exactly how Karlsson was described before injuries hampered his career.

  19. Lol. Except he looks just like Orr or Coffey in all of these things that you claim is "changing" the game… lol

  20. There is some recency bias here. There have been great offensively minded defensemen in the past. Still the best ever was Bobby Orr.

Maker is an elite player and just getting started, but there is hyperbole in saying he will change the game. NHL teams have been looking for highly skilled defensemen for decades. It’s just that Makar does it better than many have in a long time.

  21. Just an exceptional player. NOT game or position changing. But some tool suckling fan will always try to get the attention of their crush with skate licking flattery.

  22. When he leads the league in scoring then you can name all other defensemen with Bobby Orr, not to mention 8 straight Norris Trophy's. Makar is not changing the game he is striving to be a close Bobby Orr. He did it 50 years ago in a rougher, tougher league to play in. Orr revolutionized the game where few even came close since.

  23. Absolutely loved watching that dude shred back in his UMass days. I knew he was destined for bigger things.

  24. I just hope he stays healthy. Erik Karlsson was about to absolutely blow the league apart from the D position like Makar is doing but that injury really stopped him.
