That makes sense.. if they play less overall but spend more time in the O-zone, that’s better on all fronts.
Can’t disagree with that, Matthews tends to be a bit worse for wear by the time he gets to the playoffs.
The Leafs have a bottom 6 they can trust to play tough minutes, so it’s makes sense to leverage that. More ozone looks and rested stars. Other teams won’t have that same luxury.
And keep them fresher in case it goes to OT.
It seemed like every time I watched Marner, Matthews and Reilley start OT they looked gassed.
