  1. If it was me I would trade a first to get rid of OEL’s contract. 100% contract gone though. Zero money kept on our cap. Then after that I would be very careful with prospects. That way we can keep Miller, Brock, Bo and then add a top 4 dman in free agency or trade. This team is not that bad in my opinion. We just need cap space. It’s only 15th not like it’s top ten. If needed throw in Dipietro

  2. My guess is they are going to put together a package deal like Milsy and OEl together to get their cap space. That make the most sense and means they don't get any assets except cap space for MIlsy and then the new management will then go about their business. The acquiring team will most likely just turn around and trade Milsy for a boat load of assets and they will win as well, most likely keeping OEL for a couple of years to help their young team out and bring them up to the cap floor and buy him out when they get their young players up to speed. A team like Arizona fits the bill perfectly. That is likely how this is going to play out and everyone wins. Should be interesting to say the least.

  3. The Coyotes love committing robbery under GM Bill Armstrong, Look at his trade history on cap friendly, every trade is either equal or an absolute steal in favor of the Yotes.

  4. Next year OEL has a base salary of 5m and a signing bonus of 5m. In 23-24 he has a base salary of 10m. At no point will OEL ever be tradeable.

  5. If Arizona did call willing to take on bad contracts, based on cap hit V actual money there is only one player that would help them reach the floor and pay less real money. Tyler Myers. Everyone else either costs more than their hit or is the same.

  6. Arizona is a Mickey Mouse clubhouse. They can’t afford to pay for any player salary but still needs to meet cap floor. All 31 teams know their prime directive and the owners are sicken that they have to support this team financially. As per CapFriendly, AZI is at $49m with 17 players on roster. They have to get to $61m. Even though a real team has no issues acquiring 6 players for $11m, ARZ doesn’t want to actually spend $11m on salary. They just want the cap hit. So they’re having problems looking at players around the league like Eriksson where almost all the money is paid out already with large cap hit. AZI is in trouble, they have no money to pay salaries. Look at their time in ARI, struggling to pay rent, taxes ($200k) and even admin staff. Who knows, come training camp, they don’t have enough players and come crawling to VAN for Dickerson, Poolman or Myers for future considerations.

  7. The Canucks are not that hard up against the cap, so why would they do the Yotes a favour so they can get above the cap floor?

  8. Ayy man we’re talking about Coyotes, but Flyers are in this thing to for Miller a possible trade could be

    Miller
    DiPietro
    3RD 2022

    Bobby Brink
    Cam York
    1st Round Pick in 2022
    James Riemsdyk

  9. You’re looking at this wrong, my man.

If Arizona wants OEL back with us eating salary, then I want, at a starting point, COL first. If we hold more than $2 million, then we get additional picks back.

If we’re, in essence, helping Arizona renegotiate their contact with OEL, and thereby poking the CBA with a sharp pointy stick, then we deserve to be compensated for the favour that is permitted under the CBA but will 100% p**s off the NHL & Bettman.

  10. So we are saying, Benning screwed the team pretty badly, from front to back, top to bottom.

  11. Was a bad trade after Dumped bad contracts now oel after Erickson canucks should have more cap Benning worse GM in club History

  12. OEL is the worst trade in NHL history, and the sad part was everybody knew even at the time of the trade except for the genius Benning is.

  13. I don't want to trade OEL, couple other players I'd rather see gone first. I think he's a great defenseman. One half of the third best 5 on 5 pairing in the whole league. And his offensive numbers woulda been much better if we didn't have Hughes already being used in the top offensive role already. I agree it would be nice if his contract was less but it is what it is. At least it's not as bad as the over payment oilers are doing with Nurse

  14. I would have done that trade again. Maybe I'm alone here, but I still like that trade Oel and garland have been great. Hell I would give Boeser the 7.5 for 1 year and flip him at the deadline retaining half so we get atleast a second back for him

  15. VAN trades Ferland ($3.5 mil x 1 LTIR) to AZI. ARI sends us 1st rd pick. AZI gets $3.5m cap hit which will help them get to the cap floor and pays out no salary because it’s paid by disability insurance.
