He could score 100 points this season and that JT signing will still look like shit. This team is not close to competing and the prospect cupboards are bare. Enjoy another 8+ years of being mediocre.
Not blaming Demko at all, but it’s obviously that if he’s not stealing games and being lights out every game, this team is going to struggle mightily to get wins.

It’s like the opposite of last season. We would struggle to get going and have horribly slow starts. Now we are getting outscored 7-0 in the third period and just completely falling apart.

So Bruce did one thing right by not making Miller the matchup center against Ovi’s line. The bad thing he did was make Horvat the matchup center.

What is there to say, bad special teams, particularly the PK is just killing us yet again. Just have had an awful PK for what, like 5 years running?
Every single opposing PP just immediately dissects the PK and scores easily. It’s been this way forever.
Imagine how different this season is if we had anything resembling a competent PK. Probably win in Edmonton and certainly win tonight. But it’s complete garbage instead and the main reason they’re 0-3. Combine that with shit like Juulsen 2 chances to get the puck out resulting in 2 turnovers leading to a goal against, and somehow the exact same 2 backdoor goals from the near point to the far post due to just no defensive awareness at all. Just completely not an NHL level of team defense.

It’s clear I think, after so many years, that this isn’t a problem with structure, it’s not about personnel or line combinations.
This team doesn’t try hard enough. No coach or general manager is going to change that. Beyond a certain point, a message needs to be sent. They overhauled the front office last year. The axe needs to come down deep.

There’s not a single person on this roster that I’d be heartbroken about if I woke up & saw them traded tomorrow morning. There’s something seriously wrong with this team & I genuinely have no idea what needs to be done to fix it.

As shit as this team has played, we are missing Myers and Dermott which would strengthen this already thin defence. Myers OEL was a pretty solid pair for us which is bad thing to begin with but the numbers don’t lie. Our forwards have been really hurting us defensively, leaving lanes wide fucking open and giving odd-man rushes like crazy due to shit passing.

Our core has pulled the wool over the eyes of this market for way too long. Every year we bang on about supporting Petey Boeser hughes Horvat and Demko with the right pieces, fuck that. They are not a cup winning core – its so plainly obvious. There’s no Mackinnon there, no Makar, no Landeskog. Our guys are fucking discount brand, and our new management team fell for the same thing we all did. Look forward to the next 6 years of finding the right « supporting pieces » to get these guys to their max potential – fringe playoff squad.
