No mention of OPPONENTS’ STICK IN THE FUCKING HAND?

  2. Blippii

Clearly wasn’t done to give advantage. Opponents stick got in his hands, stopping his ability to control puck. Any discretion available was used by ref. Did this guy ref that last Leaf Yotes game where buddy practically jetskied on Matthews?

  3. HarryWally

There was no batting motion. Rielly had a stick in his hand before the puck even got there. I see a slash, a high stick. The puck went in 3 different directions before Marner picked it up.

I think they needed to look at the entire situation before they made that overturn. Just silly.

  4. Romanpolakfan

0 % change they overturn this, if it were Boston/Tampa/Florida goal.

  5. DontToewsM3Bro

Leafs lost because they played shit for 90% of the game, still an awful call

  6. LowHangingLight

So, as stated in the rule itself, *unless an on ice official has determined the batted puck was directed to a teammate…*stop right there, because no *on-ice official* determined that.

This was a gross overreach by the situation room.

  7. howsshegoin

it was a difficult call, made even tougher since steven stamkos wasn’t there to wave it off

  8. ravage1996

But the ON ICE officials didn’t call that…

I’m glad they go into detail on the definition of advantage in this context.

    Oh wait.

Sure looks to me like Keller was most advantaged by the knock down and had the ability to play it first

  10. lmao even the justification they give in the explanation omits the part of the rule where the hand pass is determined. Yeah no shit he was the first person to get « possession *and* control », but that’s not the infraction lmao.

The call was shit but the leafs should never have been in that position. They have no excuses for letting the coyotes take the lead. Disappointing effort, made me cringe a little bit when Marner had that super smug goal celebration. Dude just tied it up in the third against The Coyotes and he’s acting like he’s got swagger fucking embarrassment.

The pick literally deflects off his glove/kellers stick and it drops to the ice. Marner then has to retrieve it. What a bunch of bullshit.

  13. Deluxechin

so heres where i feel like the waters get muddy, so yes, Rielly touches the puck with his glove, and the next person’s stick to hit the puck is Marner, so by that account, technically its a hand pass, but there are clearly some angles where you see the Arizona player kick the puck which is what causes it to be redirected out to Marner therefore it shouldn’t be a hand pass

My question here, is did the situation room treat this like an offside? because i feel like their reasoning (while complete bullshit in their tweet) could be them thinking that the Arizona player never had possession of the puck since it hit his skate instead of him having control over the puck? either way, this is such a stupid fucking turnover that even with the given excuse, doesn’t make any sense

  14. nousernamex2

If it happened to Arizona, would we still be whining about it? Probably not. Leafs made their own bed tonight unfortunately.

  15. MapleLeafsNation75

Let’s see what happens if the Leafs allow a goal in the exact same way and if the situation room overturns the call.

The puck went behind him. Reilly was also high stocked/slashed. Marner had to skate from a distance to come retrieve the puck. This is no way is him giving it or passing it to Marner. The league is ran by a bunch of lawyers and they find a way to fuck this up
