Tired of hearing the same fucking excuses every single year. This year is different though right, we only had to wait 4 games for a pitiful effort worthy of history books, and excuses from our captain to match.
Tavares really shouldn’t be captain, he’s a great player but he doesn’t come across as leader material.

The Leafs have perfected the art of playing down to lesser opponents. It's not that there's no effort, it's just that they don't play like they're dialled in. Sloppy D-zone coverage, mis-handling easy passes, making poor passes, constantly turning the puck over in the O-zone & the neutral zone + high danger shot attempts that completely miss the net. 4 games in is too early to judge much, but they're capable of way better execution & attention to detail than what I've seen so far.

I thought Leaf D was aweful, even Brodie gave some away. Holl now thinks he is a shooter, he wasted 3 or 4 long ones at a screen of players rather than move it or pass. Willy got a goal, yay, but he was invisible in most of the game.
The fan base panics but this team is slowly turning on. The leafs looked good at moments and will be getting better and better as the games come on. I see another season of high points and a playoff run that will put them to challenge for the Eastern final. I don't see them getting to the Stanley cup finals but stranger things have happened so…
No excuses, Sheldon! You are the coach. Out of 4 games, 2 really stinks and the season has just begun. Bag skate the team! Play the players who are hungry to play: Robertson, Simmonds and Mete. Bench those who show no effort. You gotta keep up the spirit, if necessary, with discipline.

Arizona is not a bad team. Alot of the teams in the new Nhl are pretty close. Media over sells the team . This team is very good like the majority of teams in the NHL. Team Chemistry and elite goaltending wins cups. Dubas has structured this team poorly . You can't have 3 guys getting paid 10 million and then a major drop in salary because it only creates division in the dressing room which effects team chemistry. Dubas also does not respect the goaltending position….he wants to under pay which is a very 8mportant position in a cup run.
How this coach still plays Holl night after night after the same giveaways occur more than not…..
