Powerplay points don’t count towards plus/minus; so if 2 or 3 out of 4 of his pts were on the powerplay and he were on for 3 or 4 of their goals at even strength this would make sense.

Has a player ever broken 100 points and also been a negative plus minus before? Trying to think of power play specialists… ovi was a negative -19 with 92 points (37 power play points) in 06/07

Just stop looking at +/- altogether. It’s a useless stat.

You could also get an assist by passing the puck to the goal scorer or the primary assister, then get off the ice for a change. You’d get the assist but not the plus point since you are now on the bench and another player that just hopped on the ice would get the plus.
