Bratt will never be a 7 mil player, he is still a good 5 mil dollar dude
As a Devils fans, I firmly believe that both the Devils and Bratt want a long-term deal. Signing just before arbitration proves that and this really is gonna be a bet on myself year for Jesper. He has improved each season even if the numbers don't always show it and he has proven to be a very good top-6 scoring winger. Now you add him on a line with Hughes and Palat and you get a guy who can certainly reach 80-85 points on a team that, with average goaltending, can make a WC spot. It's a good deal for both sides and it will pay off a bunch. The Devils are coming. Watch out!
The devil's went through 7 goalies that season so it's no wonder they had a horrible GA. If the goalies stay healthy, then they are 100% a fringe playoff team
Steve, what about the defense don’t you like? It’s literally the strength of the team now
Marino Siegs and Dougie are great long term deals. We have Nemec and Hughes coming along with a few other solid D prospects. The last thing I’m worried about is the D.
Gotta be careful trusting the Devils even though the team is finally taking shape. Devils have a tendency to fall flat while looking extremely promising. Despite that however I like a lot of the moves and a lot of the contracts. Definitely a team that should be fighting for a playoff spot at the very least
I don't understand why everyone keeps ignoring this, but Blackwood hasn't been healthy in the past two years. Back in 2020/21, Blackwood started the season as a Vezina candidate, yet his momentum was totally derailed after he got COVID when the team got locked down. And Blackwood was one of the players who got hit the hardest by COVID, and was forced to play through the symptoms, severely tanking his play. Then, this year, he takes a season ending injury in the early half of the year. Blackwood is a legit starter when he's healthy, and if he can stay healthy this year, he will finally prove that to everyone.
Devils will surprise you all this year, mark my words. Our D corps is finally looking very good.
Siegs – Hamilton
Graves – Severson
Bahl/Brendan Smith – Marino
Plus the additions of Palat, Haula and bringing in Andrew Brunette!
You guys need to understand the Devils played 7 goalies last season everyone was hurt we barely got any games out of Bernier and Blackwood…Daws was the go to goalie and he's like 4th or 5th in the depth chart
oh no Adam likes it for NJ which means it will not work out
He doesnt wanan be there long term, This is a prove it deal it, dude isnt worth more than 6m. had one good season but he is an below 40 avenge pts getting.
I wonder why Steve wasn’t sold on the Devils defense. They’ve got some great players there… maybe he was talking about the contracts?
You guys know absolutely nothing about the devils
Hopefully you guys actually watch the team instead of just bashing them
