Have you ever considered showing up for the entire game and not just the 3rd period? Canes, Blues, Pens and Blues again coming up. This lazy, unmotivated team could be in very deep trouble very quick with that schedule and this pathetic level of effort
People complained when tortorella said mcdavid should stop complaining about not getting calls from the refs. The forwards don’t back check no forechecking. D is just awful. How do you expect the goalies to play in front of this crap. All these guys want to join the rush and score no one wants to play defense. Woodcroft should be ripping into the team instead of being so positive. Absolutely embarrassing.
The Edmonton media and this coach are hilarious. Do they realize their are 2 teams on the ice? Absolutely no credit given to the opposition, every time they give up a goal its a "freebie" or "spotting" them lol. Why do you think they poured it on in the 3rd? The sabres sat back and were up 2 lol. If the score is tied does the period go the exact same way, hell no. Maybe if they had more respect for the other team and weren't so arrogant, things would be different. This is the nhl, just cause you have McDavid, it doesn't guarantee you success. 7/8 years in they still haven't figured that out.
Only game 3 but its clear this team can’t defend. Bunch of amateurs in their own zone. Turnovers, bad positioning, bad reads. Can’t win giving 3-4+ goals every night. Mcdavid and Draisaitl spend so much time making things happen then wasting it by passing to nobody or trying to pass through 4 sticks. This team doesn’t do the little things or basic things very well. Over passing, over complicating things. Its not a cohesive unit, everybody just chases and scrambles. It was the exact same thing last year vs the avs and for long stretches during the season. Its a personnel issue. Barrie/bouchard/murray do not defend well. Nurse and Ceci got walked tonight by 1 guy at the same time. Kulak is inconsistent.
I think the Oilers and Canucks should be the first 2 teams in NHL history to ink a bilateral coaching deal. Bruce coaches the Oilers for all their 1rst periods and Woody coaches the Canucks for all their 3rd periods…lol.
