Good goaltending vs crap defence!!
All summer Holland could've been building up the D but he didn't. Stuck with the same crap as ever but worse! Nurse is still flipping on his stomach more than half the game. Our D is our downfall, no way this team is getting anywhere close to the playoffs!!!!
Their goalie took the bricks and built a wall in their net.
That third period was great, like 90% of the period was in their zone.
That energy from the start would be great to see.
Our defense just blows. Kane is hardly visible, Drai, no idea what he's doing. Painful to watch.
Same old same old. Horrible start no matter what they say, and into the 3rd they decide to try. Comrie? was excellent, but that isn't an excuse for losing this one. What I do enjoy about these loss's though, is Seeing some of the fans demand everyone be fired and or run out of town)
Oilers have got to play a whole 60 minutes. Combrie was fantastic, next up Carolina.
Let's get more offense should fix this…who cares about defense and goaltending

These losses are ok. We need Drai to get pissy. Once the pissyness/60 gets up we’ll be unstoppable. Woodcroft playing chess while rest of us play checkers 😉
Bruce great comments on Nurse. I love that he plays for us but we live in Oil country and unless each player is 200% perfect the fans want them gone. I would also say that Thompsons goal was not just Nurses problem he came down the ice untouched like it was flag football
I would say we have not really scene the true Oilers defense. The team is playing a disconnected 5v5 game versus a connected one that JW and DM brought in successfully last year. This team is like a 3 year old that keeps touching the electrical socket even after getting shocked. Many very good coaches same outcome they just do not seem to get it at all, 2017 all over again.
We should start a petition to rename the club to 'The Edmonton Trailers' – jeeez, can they get into a game on time once in a while.
To be fair in a cap world a player who is confident enough to ask for 9M/year should live up to his contract. You can't say he's an ok player and be satisfied with that when he's getting paid like the top players in the league. That's the problem with Nurse. He made brutal mistakes you just don't expect a #1 D to make and he may have gotten away with most of them but there's kind of a spotlight on him now and he and we have to deal with it.
If it’s not poor defence, it’s turnovers. Oilers always find a way to give up goals.
My biggest concerns similar to years past….. 1. defense (goal tending and around the goal) huge lapses on defense especially after having just scored themselves. 2. playing from behind seemingly nightly (getting scored on first consistently), 3. Top heavy offense……Mcdavid and Leon carrying too much of the load ~ if they don't tally the team has little success.
