I have a Déjà vu. Is this a podcast from last season's playoffs? Seriously, AJ is talking like we have won the cup. He is calling out the critics mentioning last year's Vegas series and then – he is talking exactly the same over-enthusiastic, disrespectful stuff like he did last year. We are in two games and Nashville is by far the easiest opponent. Stay calm, stay humble – we are just getting started.
My favorite trend through the Makar years:
2020: DNVR dunking on Quinn Hughes
2021: DNVR dunking on Adam Fox
2022: DNVR dunking on Roman Josi
Hey Avs fans, chanting "ref you suck" does NOT help the team.
Love it.
Avs played great in this game. I'd be very surprised if Ingram gives up less than 4 goals in any game for the rest of this series, if the Avs put in the same effort every night.
As for AJ's retort about the collective frustration of a lot of us during their quit job in the last 7 games, I don't think beating Nashville is the time to try to make a "gotcha". I won't speak for others, but my concern wasn't that I thought the Avs suddenly stopped being good. It's that I don't agree with the attitude of thinking games don't matter. That's an incredibly selfish way to look at something that you are paid millions of dollars to do. It's one thing when players are resting, but if you're playing, try to have a little more pride.
I'm sorry if that is too "old school" for some people to handle. I'm not even old, but I grew up believing that no privilege (and making a living by playing a game is most certainly a privilege) should be taken for granted. I can't fathom showing up for work and giving half effort. That doesn't sit well with me. And as for "flipping the switch", sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't. I'd much rather go into the playoffs having not lost 6 of 7. But if they can keep up this play, that's great. I just want to win, period. I'll remind AJ once more about his comment after the first five games, or so, of the season, when he said the Avs were "emotionally fractured". I don't remember hearing him dunking on himself after that turned out not to be the case. Maybe, just maybe, we're all fans being fans, at the end of the day.
On a side note, I thought it was funny when the TNT crew were talking about the 7-2 score being up on the scoreboard while the Predators were practicing, and how it might be "bulletin board material". Either the Preds didn't consider it bulletin board material, or they are just really bad at channeling their anger, because they sure didn't play like a motivated team.
please stop sounding so arrogant
Man, so much of this pod required less alcohol.
Must be soo tough for Blaise to sit through this drunken millennial frat house every week. 🤣
Welcome back AJ!!
Lol loving the enthusiam here boys but…. Sakic will hold that title for a long time. Also Victor Hedman has 2 cups and is still the king of the mountain until he's knocked off.
AJ for DNVR Broncos cast!
Ingrams response to a goal in the first shot was phenomenal. I’m excited to follow his career. Pretty sure he was rated 63ovr with low potential
Dude AJ came back and brought his MacKinnon game to the pod. Hilarious stuff about Josi hailing Cale
