  1. Tank for bedard then trade miller at the deadline as teams will be looking for a player like him for picks and prospects, trade boes for a young d man. Cant move forward with this half baked team…not if you want to win the cup.

  2. The benching of Garland doesn't make any sense… Sure, he hasn't been lighting up the scoreboard, but as Paterson said, he also was not on the ice for any of the goal against when the Canucks were choking up leads… and he is a guy who brings his 100% to every shift, throws around his body, etc… Unless there is an undisclosed injury or something, that is just a recipe for player frustration and anger…

  3. In my opinion, you gotta wake up the players by making 2 trades and one firing. Trade 2 guys who have been here for long, and fire one of the coaches. When 2 guys leave after being here for a longtime, everyone ends up with a fire under their ass.

  4. First year ever I have heard from van “this is the year”… this is not the year and they need a couple more of not the years before they can really have a chance at the year. If any fan saw the d core that benning left behind and thought in a season the team could turn around? You can’t have both oel and Myers, where van has nothing close to replacements ready (maybe rath but he needs at min 2 more years in the ahl). This was never a team close to contending. You fix the d core with demko in net, then worry about the offence as you won’t need as much but should still have it with hughes n pett.

  5. Panic time team tank same result last year veterans are Declined oel poolman Myers Pearson missed the playoffs again didn't Adressed the Defense October make it or Break it

  6. Pettersson real deal .trade Boeser Horvat Pearson Garland pulled the Trigger no excuses now this is ## martin was ok Defense sucks in front of Him need more from players lose next 5 yikes starting Minnesota

  7. None of this is really Bruce Boudreau's fault, as he can only ice the players he is given.
And he hasn't been given strong enough defensive-minded players to compete in that very tough western conference.
Jim Rutherford and Patrick Allvin had all summer to address this obvious problem, and chose not to do so.
For his part, Demko appears to still be feeling the crippling effects of being terribly over-worked last season due to lack of quality back-up goaltending (Jaroslav Halak), and doesn't look like he is in any condition to help the Canucks steal any games.
At this point, you have to look at moving out core pieces now in order to get back better quality defencemen and re-adjust the complexion of the team roster.
There are simply no shortcuts here.
Horvat, Boeser and Garland should all be placed on the trade market now in order to get some defensive assets back, because as things stand today, the Vancouver Canucks do not look like a playoff team at all, and could even be out of the playoff race entirely way before this regular season is even half over.
Yes, the situation is already that "urgent", folks.
Whether or not Rutherford and Allvin have figured that out yet remains to be seen.
    Next.

  8. Tbf. Demko isn’t getting much talk… not saying the team doesn’t leave him out to dry from time to time. But we do need him to protect the leads he’s been getting..

  9. Write off this year….tank it for a pick!

Trade Hughes and Boeser and Miller….get 2 star shut down D with size + 1 puck carrier who can play D…for them…

…make OEL look like a star…run everything through him…and hopefully a rich contender bites at trade deadline…

Instill a Defense 1st attitude…they have the players to take advantage of the breakdown opportunities with quick counter-attacks…

…not un-like what MTL is doing…to the best of their limited abilities!…which is still worth a 2-2 start!

Do that and by next year you will have a club who can win 3-1 games rather than losing 5-4 ones…with a sweet 1st rounder to boot!!

  10. boudreau is in full panic mode. of all the players to sit out to make a statement….connor garland? are you kidding me? wanna make a statement bruce? sit out horvat.

  11. None of these guys have mentioned the effect of losing Asst Coach, the "Defence Whisperer", Brad Shaw! He definitely contributed to the improved play in the 2nd half of last year!

  12. Was wondering when this clown would start dissing the Canucks not long. What a fool
