  1. Calgary got a ticket into this game they had no business winning. good on Sabres sealing the deal in the third.

  2. Damn watch out for these Sabres. Youth, speed and now growing skill. This team will be a force if not this year then in the next 2-3 years. As a Flames Fan, appreciate the fight and chances. But credit to Sabers for the win they were the better team.

  3. The score could/should have been 10-2 the way buffalo played and kept hitting the post.

  4. Another strong game by comrie and a much better team in front of him tonignt. Sabres off to a hot start. Keep it up boys. Getting better every game

  6. Something seriously, seriously wrong with Markstrom. 4 more years of this man, insane. He should be the backup to Vladar.

& Treliving needs to work the phones ASAP for a competent RW'er so they're getting full value from Huberdeau. Waiting until the deadline to roll the dice on that first line developing chemistry under the Sutter system isn't a good recipe for success. Toffoli isn't it. Takes like 16 minutes to shoot when he receives a pass.

  7. Markstrom has been a weak link ever since the Flames lost 7-1 to the Canucks in February. Tommy Salo was the same way after allowing a weak shot against Belarus during the 2002 Olympics. He returned to Edmonton in terrible form. Vladar shows the same determination to prove himself as Kiprusoff after being dumped by the Sharks. I think he should be starter.

  8. Conrie for Vezina; Power for Calder; Sabres win Atlantic

  9. Tuch 26, Thompson 24, Asplund 24, Mittelstadt 23, Jokiharju 23, Dahlin 22, Samuelsson 22, Cozens 21, Krebs 21, JJ Peterka 20, Owen Power 19.

This is the core of the Sabres that just beat Edmonton and Calgary in their homes.

And you ask any hockey pundit out there and they will tell you the Sabres also have the best prospect pool in the NHL with the likes of Quinn, Savoie, Levi, and many more high draft picks that are succeeding in the juniors.

The NHL is on notice because the Sabres are only going to get better in the coming years and they are already putting up 4+ goals a game other than there only loss by 1 goal versus the Florida Panthers when they still managed to put in 3 goals.

They will finally break the longest play-off drought streak in the NHL now going on 12 years, this year or the next at the latest and have the potential to be a very dangerous team in a few years that could push to win it all.

  10. They scored on the 2nd attempt, on the 5th attempt, and then on the following attempt (6th) ROFL!

    Markstrom is a JOKE!!

  11. Playing the Sabres is no longer the walk in the park any more, this game is quickly becoming their rink

  12. Atlantic being strong as expected but Tampa at the bottom lol. Going to be a bloodbath in that division!!

  13. This game was fun to watch. As a sabres fan, I can really say that this is the best I have felt about our team in the past couple years.

  14. Buf has a lot of talent for being one of the cheapest teams in the NHL. It says they have 20.8 mill in cap room. That is enough cap they could have signed Johnny Gaudreau and Nazem Kadri during free agency. If they do cap dump trades they could get a ton of draft picks with that.

If they wanted an vet player that did not put buf on the no trade list buf would have have a huge advantage in those trades because they can offer the cap relief 90%+ of teams can't. When the Knights traded Max Pac and MAF for nothing as examples. When the Sharks traded Brent Burns just to dump his cap and the Sharks have to pay money in cap for Burns for 3 more years or whatever even with him gone. Car wanted a discount on his cap and the Sharks paid it.

The Buf ownership should spend that cap though even if it just cap dump trades. The Flames traded a 1st round pick for 6.3 mill in cap or whatever to MTL. Granted Sean Monahan might have put Buf on his 10 team no trade list but I think the Buf ownership would be too cheap to do it anyway since they have so much cap space they will not use.
