also dont feel bad about our objectively really good pk its not that the leafs couldnt its that the stars have a really good pk. sometimes its healthy to remember what the team your facing is and to forgive things your team struggled with.
Remember the chief George Armstrong saying Robertson's name in the same breath. WOW. HIS family is birsting with pride. We want MORE.
Leafs remind me of the Red Wings before they won a championship in the 90's. Except back then there was no social media. There was a lot of criticisms and doubt over whether or not Yzerman could win in the playoffs. I do believe the Leafs will win a cup just not any time soon. I would say they're still 5-10 years out.

I would look at the ref's after every whistle if I had to play a game vs probably one of the dirtiest teams in the league too.. how many elbows, forearms, trips, punches and crosschecks to unprotected body parts are they supposed to take in 1 game? Keep the hits clean(ARMS DOWN NOT UP) and play hockey. I feel for Dallas rookies cause the actions of these clowns are doing nothing but painting targets on there backs.

6:16 The cross check on Matthews… I was disgusted that none of his team came to his defense (well, Bunting did a bit). Had this game taken place 20 years ago, there would have been hell to pay for cheap-shotting a star player. This is why in this day and age you still need an enforcer of some sort on your team (or at least someone that's not scared to get into a fight).
Dubas seems to act as if cheap-shots against star players in the modern NHL will simply vanish if he just ignores it and pretends it never happened, meanwhile our star players continue to get injured due to his incompetence.
I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being part of the reason Matthews doesn't resign with the Leafs… because if he feels Dubas doesn't care enough to protect him, then what's the point in staying? It would become too dangerous to stay in Toronto because nasty players will just keep going after Matthews and attempting to (and sometimes succeeding to) injure him.

Oh Steve, just want to warn you. In the playoffs coming in spring 2023, you will need medication because this version of the Leafs CANNOT compete in the playoffs AGAIN. There continues to be large holes in this lineup. First, defense is lacking and has been since Dubas became a GM. Second, insufficient toughness AGAIN. Third, goaltending is insufficient AGAIN. MLSE has selected a GM who has not been able to admit that his philosophy is flawed and subsequently ice a team that is balanced enough to compete WHEN IT MATTERS. The Leafs are FIRST a money making organization, who can fault them for that BUT, why not protect the best offensive player in the league? Several players are needed to make this team competitive IN THE PLAYOFFS. MLSE doesn’t know OR it’s not important enough to change their philosophy. Far too much inability to be TOUGH ENOUGH AS A TEAM… SICK OF IT !…
I get the excitement, but its 1 game. Pump the brakes a bit because he hasn't looked great in the other 15 he has played. I hope he finds sustained success because holy crap has he had a rough hand dealt to him so far.

People watching the "leaf game" are fans of the game, people watching the "Stars game" are more likely to be casual sports connoisseurs, and right on que as the Dallas announcers mentioned they'd like an explanation after the review the refs actually went and said something more than just "the ruling in the ice has been overturned".
Just really felt like give the stars this one to keep more people interested.

I do like Robertson . they need to get some toughness. I know its kinda old school.. but someone who likes to face wash and annoy the other players because Nick always looks like he is one hit away of being laid out. I noticed this year other teams are roughen up the leafs with zero push back.. only going to get worse.
