It's Dubas and Keefe.. The players do not respect them and you don't play for who you have no respect for.
Given Dubas set a double standard in the room by paying 3 guys 10 million+ and under paying others . ABSOLUTLY !!!!! These guys should expect that. The elete players are being paid that because according to Dubas they are their best players. So when the team looses because there best players are struggling or just not performing then of course its to be expected. You think it would be appropriate for him to call out or put the blame on a guy who is making less then 1 million in salary cap? It would be weird if he did that and very inappropriate. I would agree its a team sport though but its just the nature of the beast given the way Dubas structured the team. The leafs defense is also under paid. I see Reilly always winded on shifts man and the leafs defense still has not been addressed. Reilly can't do it all. I like the addition of Giordino but he is later in his career and not a miracle worker. The goaltending issue is salary too. The leafs want to under pay. You need an elete goalie in playoffs and I think its reckless to be looking for a "diamond in the rough" and gamble that way when this franshise has not won a cup since 67. As a fan I do not blame the players for that. I blame the Ballard era and ongoing organizational issues throughout the years.

He said that the guys haven't found their rhythm 4 games in, without our Elite players being Elite it's a well matched game that can go either way.
I don't see anything wrong with that, media over dramatizing cause it's the Leafs.

Leafs have spent almost 10 years building a regular season team. D and Goaltending hasn't existed since CuJo for christ sake. Teams like Tampa and Colorado and the Penguins who make these deep playoff runs all have competent goaltending and D.
It is unfair to call out the elite players(highest paid) for loss to Arizona in Toronto
Someone needs to inform Keefe about the 20 year curse.
Until that is lifted, it wont matter who is on the team..Toronto will find a way to lose.

Of coarse Keefe was right to call out the Leafs elite. If it's one thing I can't stand it's losing to teams that nobody but Bettman cares about!

And another thing …… Betman , the coyotes , the networks , the fan base , family , friends and advertisers are all going to push hard for Mathews to go to Arizona when he becomes a free agent so Keefe is doing what he has to , to win before Mathews leaves .

Keefe doesn't coach, he just stands there doing nothing, he gets out coached all the time in the playoffs. Rather than him calling out his players. Maybe someone should call him out for not coaching and benching those players. The Leafs need a new GM and coach, they basically have the same type of team they did last year. (same problems will result in the same ending in the playoffs) The Leafs GM should not be waiting weeks to help his team. He should be making a trade right now for a top 4 D-man. Then ship Mr. Soft (Justin Holl) out of town before all the fans start booing him. The sad thing is they could have had Josh Anderson when he was in Columbus, but Dubas wouldn't trade Kapanen to get him. Every team knows the Leafs are weak and all they have to do is push them around and intimidate them. Someone needs to tell Dubas that skill alone does not win a Stanley Cup. The team needs players with Heart.
