The original Sharks jerseys were awesome They'd probably look good in black. Black armor looks amazing in person, but on TV it's just black. I can't tell if it's the Sharks, the Stars in black, or any other team.
Sharks stars of the game @ NYR: SJS killed 2 NYR PP before Logan Couture (2) scored on SJS PP 6:02 (PPG) 1st. Radim Simek (1) came down from the point through the right circle, got the pass from Matt Nieto, went backhand -forehand and shot through Adam Fox and past Igor Shesterkin for the score 13:10 2nd. SJS took control of the game in 3rd. Erik Karlsson scored 49 sec into OT from the bottom of the right face off circle off a pass from Timo Meier, who was behind the goal line, Erik Karlsson kept the puck moving forward despite getting tripped and falling down, Erik Karlsson got up and Timo Meier found him wide open for the score 0:49 OT. James Reimer made 21 saves, 23 shots and .913 SV%. NYR won the opening face off in OT, but never got the puck outta their D zone. A turnover led to SJS scoring chance and a save by Igor Shesterkin. SJS won the face off to the left of Igor Shesterkin, never gave up the puck and scored. SJS were 5 for 5 on the penalty kill to improve to 20 for 20 this season.
David Quinn can't go to CVS and buy confidence pills, they get it for playing the right way and doing the right thing and watching their teammates do the right thing. At some point in time they've gotta say enough's enough, and he thought that's what they did after 2nd, They just got tired of losing, and he thought they understood what it took for SJS to win. The incredible accomplishment was to give them 4 PP in 1st, still survived and came out 1-0.
Erik Karlsson got in a situation where he thought they're gonna call a penalty, and when he realized they didn't, it was either what happened or they're gonna have 2 on 0 the other way. He found his balance well and felt like he had control of the puck even though it might not have looked like it. Timo Meier did a great job staying patient and found him for an easy goal. Erik Karlsson felt like SJS played to win and that was the way they had to try and play. SJS is not gonna win every game, but they can't be afraid of making mistakes or sitting on our heals and kinda pray that SJS goalies bailing them out and got an easy go somehow. He thought this was a good step for us which was all about doing it consistently.
After 3 seasons of HC for NYR, David Quinn who was hired on July 26th and retured to MSG and got his 1st W as SJS HC mirrored his 1st W as NYR HC. it came on 10/11/18 and it was 3-2 in OT against SJS. After 1 season of NYR HOA, Mike Grier returned to MSG and also got his 1st W as NHL SJS GM who was hired July 5th. Timo Meier played his 400th game as a shark. Kevin Labanc returned to his home town in NY and got a W as a shark in MSG. The Sharks finally get their 1st win of the season after breaking this 5 game losing streak of 3 regulation losses including 2 losses at the 2022 NHL Global Series in Prague. The Sharks unveil their Reverse Retro jerseys presented a uniform inspired by the 1974 California Golden Seals, the Bay Area's 1st NHL team, remixed w/SJS new wordmark in Seals typography and colors. Sharks foundation reached $2M Milestone with Goals For Kids.
