  1. Jets are a draft/development team. Players do not want to move to Winnipeg. So, 1) need a real coach (staff, too) who can build a playoff 2-way style team, 2) mid-30's players should not be on the 1st line, 3) need a star D-man (would cost alot!), 4) figure out a way to unload Wheeler's contract (he's still an awesome 2nd, 3rd line winger), 5) Scheif-Connor-Perfetti would make a great1st line…if that's not working out, ship 55 (My fave player) if there's value out there.

  2. I am not surprised at all that the Jets flopped this year. I saw it coming in November.

  3. Joel Quenville!!! Everyone is missing the obvious. Don't let what happening in Edmonton happen to Winnipeg. Just hire a proven winner who is available and keep the momentum going forward.
Why Coach Q ?? Well, he is a 3x Cup Champion coach, he is second in NHL coaching wins at 1,090, and was winning in Florida before stepping down. He served his penalty now it's time to return to the game in Winnipeg and turn this team into a Cup pedigree team. The Jets have a similar type of core to the 2010 Blackhawks- we just need better coaching.
And fortunately, that's the easiest and cheapest way to bring change to a small market team like Winnipeg.
Please do a feature on this possibility and start bringing attention to bringing in the best Coach that is available. We don't have the time or luxury to be experimenting with unproven Coaching talent. The Jets have so much talent, they have a great GM, but they just lack good coaching.

  4. I think looking at a guy like Pascal Vincent would be interesting. He’s experienced with a number of guys in the organization. Is having some time as an assistant in CBJ.

Other than that I enjoy the idea of Lambert. I also think there has to be some consideration for the current Moose coach Mark Morrison. He’s done an outstanding job with the moose and he’s had to deal with a ton of callups/injuries.

  5. Trading Wheeler to Arizona or Boston with a 1st rounder and cover $2 million of his contract. Then play Perfetti. Trading Schmidt…somewhere. Allow Heinola to play. Hire Quennville as Coach. Trading Copp was a mistake. Trade for players who win faceoffs!

  6. Wayne Gretzky speaks in-depth about how almost became a Jet here: https://youtu.be/A45TNBng03M?t=1386

Although I heard stories about this in the past, I never heard all the details. Check this out Jet fans! Heartbreaking to know we could have signed the greatest player to have ever played if we offered him a new car! Man, how this game has changed.

  7. Conor Hellybuyck is not a championship goaltender. He is always terrible in important games and moments.

  8. I might be in the outlier here but dubios is not worth 10 million I’m sorry it’s a stupid contract to give to a player that would set us back

  9. Something isn't right in the locker room, and that's on the player- leadership, wheels, 55 and helly.

  10. The biggest change the Jets needed to make was Kevin Cheveldayoff. But instead they resigned him. Under him the Jets have made the playoffs 4 times in 11 years (a 36% success rate), ended up costing us the chance to draft Suzuki and has failed to turn the team into a contender. He's 100% responsible.

  11. You mean they're being moved out of Winnipeg? Oh…not that kind of change. As far as I can determine , the Jets will never be winners…no one wants to play in a small market Canadian city except very young players with average prospects and two or three above average players sprinkled in to give the fans false hope.
