I played hockey for 50 years and had 6 concussion from various goons trying to take me out of the game. Those cross checks are very painful and refs mostly ignore them, broken ribs or deep bruises often result. The goon hockey of the 1960s and 70s still find a place in North Americas great game . No other pro sport tolerates dirty players and fighting. Why is Olympic Hockey so great? No fighting with skill the focus and cheap shots at a minimum .unfortunately Pro Hockey is all about making money and making " The Playoffs" . Tom Wilson belongs in MMA, not hockey.
So, Panthers management thought exchanging Huberdeau for feisty Matthew Tzachuk might be the elixir that will take them far into the playoffs. He was almost invisible with the Flames last season as the crosstown Oilers finished them off in five games.
