J’ai trouvé ce post d’il y a quelques années. Je ne sais pas quels ont été les résultats du côté des Canadiens, mais je me demande ce que les sous-marins des Cancucks ressentiraient maintenant.

It’s funny how people think Caufield is 2-3 years out, at most he’s 2 years from full potential, this guy is elite right now

It’s easy to mock what they said, but hindsight is 20/20 and the context 3 years ago was a lot different. At the time, the Canuck just finished 7th, then 5th and would eventually finish 3rd in their division, make the playoff and reach the second round. This post was probably early in that season, but the point is that at the time the Canucks felt like they were at the end of their rebuild and becoming a regular playoff team. Boeser was 22yo and just had two seasons in the 30-38 goal and 66-72pts pace. It didn’t made any sense for the Canuck at the time to trade an established 22yo top 6 forward for possible future, they needed to improve now.
Now obviously we know how it turned out. Boeser regressed two seasons out of the next 3 and have on good season, they missed the playoff twice, while Caufield is well….
But to be honest, if I was a Canuck fan 3 years ago, I would have also said no to that trade. To bad for them that it turned out to badly after 2019-20. Still pretty funny NGL.
