This is the puzzling part – while dithering boob Benning did lay out a buffet of turds and bad commitments, the “stay the course” approach of JR/Allvin/Boudreau is puzzling.
JR and Boudreau are late career, short term guys with no incentive to overvalue their own mistakes like Dunderhead Jim. If, per rumours, they felt like this roster is nowhere near good enough….well…<deep inhale>:

they’ve tried continuation of the benning playbook
1. go all in to miss the playoffs again
2. Signing Miller, Mikhyev , Boeser, etc. not breaking up the core
3. seeking picks and cap flexibility but ending up with less of both
4. making zero
you know what sometimes a loss is a win
why didn’t we trade miller 2 years ago/?
why didn’t we dump boeser when he had value
why did we give up a high first and a second for the OEL contract and garland on a rebuilding team
