Strome is not a good player. He's a marginal NHL player with a few specific high-end skills: hands, passing/playmaking ability is excellent, and can produce with elite talent IF he can keep up with the play. Beyond that, he's not only slow, but is a below average skater and pretty much worthless when it comes to battling over 200 ft. I'm happy he's gone.
You should talk about how the last two gms saw the writing on the wall and screwed things up right before leaving. The fact that someone hired Tallon after that is mindblowing. So now we have to deal with the Tallon/Bowman curse for the next eight years. Losing big Buff really hurt, there was no one like him.
