I think they've tuned out the coach p'raps someone like Barry Trotz could motivate them because if they think the playoffs are a foregone conclusion, that could be a big mistake.
Partied a little too hard in Vegas the night before
It's a matter of maturity. They are waiting for the other team to set the tone, when they are good enough to be the team that sets the tone against all but a few teams.
The thing that was causing slow starts for The Maple Leafs was that they weren't ready and didn't have the push back to get some goals and Toronto was sluggish.
Leafs bottom six and defence is absolutely awful.
The roster changes made during the off season did not make the Leafs a better team.
They have had years and still can’t figure it out
Give till late November and than if it's much of the same they need a trade to scare them and coach firing to wake them up.
I would make the players wear lead ponchos 24 hours and just take them off before the puck drop …. Guarantee they fly at the start
The leafs can't score 5 on 5. They are
29th in the NHL for goals 5 on 5. The D can't score even strength, and the team is not hungry enough especially the bottom 6 forwards.
Players are lazy why do they need to try hard when they get paid so much and no will to win. Just watch the playoffs on how hard they try .. everyone’s a Nylander anyone that tried hard hyman, kadri, Connor brown they traded away

Samsonov kept them in that game. So many rush opportunities for Vegas. Wide open shooting lanes. I didn't catch the start and didn't get a chance to watch all the way through, but I counted about 5 giveaways in the time that I watched it.
