Very glad to have him and his staff here in Detroit. This is a winning coach right here hired by the best NHL GM of this era. Some might say Sakic and Lou but he's atleast top 3.
It's the NHL, we're going to lose games and sometimes bad ones. But these guys are building for longevity, not to please fans in the short term. Exciting time to be a Wings fan. It's been hell these past 5-7 years rooting for this team lol.
Wings are in good hands Lalonde tells it like it is… don't think he plays favorites and wouldn't hesitate to make a change.

It’s so hard to bring new young players into the league and consistently play every night. Look at the rosters from year to year. They don’t change that much. A lot of veterans continue to come back and play and be productive. Because it is so hard to develop NEW players that can play in the NHL

This is by far the best coach of the big four Pro Sports in Detroit. Dan Campbell has been worrying me and I have some doubts about Dwayne Casey. This person is a winner.

He can do an entire presser without repeatedly saying “process.” I love it.
For about 3-4 months before we had a new head coach I was thrilled to don my tinfoil hat to talk about guys like Larionov or Fedorov taking up the mantle. I thought it would have been a clear prophetic fulfillment getting a guy with as much hockey IQ as The Professor himself to coach what was at the time just a highly promising but yet unproven set of prospects. Looking at what we landed, I can't say I have any real justifiable doubts, and much less complaints. This guy is looking to be a stud behind the bench. Wings for Stanley Cup Champions 202X!!
