  1. Best game the Oilers played so far this reason against a pretty decent team. Great goal-tending, and solid defense was a step up. Happy to see Skinner get the w he played great. Now they need to keep playing this way especially tomorrow against the Hawks.

  2. Loving those line combos. Also, McLeod is really starting to move. A handful of mistakes tonight but he's really growing.

  3. I'll add my voice to all the others – Skinner stood on his head tonight. What a great game!

  4. Great win oil! Not impressed with Yamamoto..but the bison king and foegle are playing well together

  5. Great podcast as usual. Also, RIP ears at David's coughing. He's usually pretty good at hitting the mute button, but not tonight.

  6. Couldn't believe the amount of odd man rushes Oilers had they didn't score on.
Congrats to Nuge and his 200th.
Skinner has been developed Perfectly by the Oilers, can't believe the guy just turned 23.

  7. Nurse gets too much blame all the time… "whipping boy culture" is too strong in this fan base.
Nurse is the BEST Dman Oilers got and its really not close right now. Bouchard might take his place … in 4 years.

  8. David have you tried buckleys mixture for your cough!…it always helps me ! The original buckleys mixture the one that tastes awful!…lol

  9. Maybe put yammo on the ir and give his spot to Holloway until yammo is all better!

  10. "Standing up"! That's a good way to say nurse might be learning how to not do the dead fish belly flop as much as he's used to!

  11. Looks like Nuge's summer work is paying off. He had 10 even strength goals in 63 games last year. Seven games into this season, he has 4. Congrats on the 200th!
Kane and Yamo aren't quite rolling like they can yet, but I trust they'll get it going soon.

  12. Great game
    Extreme battle level
Good to see Oil can play that style and stick with it
    Skinner looked great again
    NHL ready I’d say

  13. Had it not been for the phenomenal goal tending at both ends of the rink in this playoff styled hockey game, it could have easily ended up in a turkey-shoot. Mind you, from the Oilers perspective, as long as their goal tenders remain consistent along with some improvements from their defensive corps as well as a finely tuned offensive corps, then the Oilers could once again prove that the City of Edmonton is also the City of Champions. Go Oilers!!

  14. Man, Darnell Nurse is a great skater.
And that 4min+ shift from Drai was extremely stupid, he could have peeled off lots of times, he decided to stay for whatever reason.
That JP goal…was a high-risk outlet pass from him to Foegele, could have easily been intercepted, but wasn't, but impressive, how fast after that he was in position to get a stick on Nurse's shot, so…well done JP

  15. Barber chef is the funniest game in the NHL – i mean, the way you and every north-american pronounce Barbashev's name, i myself would know the excact pronounciation 🙂

  16. A game? I'd give it a B+. Without Skinner playing lights out, this would have been a loss. Some funny and almost very costly miscues too for extra excitement. The last 5 mins of the 3rd, wow.. Oilers acted like that had all day and then some to make a pass, or get to the puck, or skate it out… when they didn't , and so had a number of self inflicted turnovers at the worst time. Saved by Skinner, who might well be the starter sooner then later with games like this. Lots of positives though, Fun Game to watch!

  17. The game wouldn't have been so close if the Oilers didn't blunder so many 2 on 1's!
Fantastic performance though, do not play down to tomorrows competition.

  18. Skinner great. Oilers making more mistakes than is really allowed by playoff teams but making progress. Perhaps they should slow a bit vs Chi to save their energy even if a loss. StL then Chi is a bit too much
