  1. He may be hurt (let's be honest not his fault) but Zucker (and Rakell) were by far the best players on the ice in Edmonton the other night for the Pens and I'm including Sid and Geno etc. He's hurt again, yes that's bad; but at least he's getting hurt playing hard.

  2. I don't get the excitement. They made some bad decisions with the roster under Hextall. Trading out Matheson for Petry, I don't get this at all. You add 1.5 million to the Cap and get 6 years older, for team that is already too old.
Carter – 3.125 mill is a disaster at 2 years, it would have been horrible at one year.
McGinn- 2.75 mill should have been moved in the offseason
Bluegar- 2.2 mill should have been moved

With these moves alone the Pens would have had 10 million more space with the cap and the team is gets vastly younger and better with guys like Poulin, Puus, Nylander, DOC in the lineup.

Moving forward they should trade one of the Big 3, don't care who.
Try to get LA to take Carter back, maybe you eat half the contract but at least get back a pick.
Try to trade both McGinn, Bluegar and Petterson.

Hopefully they miss the playoffs, win the lottery, spend wisely this offseason with the 25 million in cap space and 2023 and beyond is suddenly looking a lot more bright.

  3. Thanks DK, frustration got the better of me with Zucker cause of these Injuries. I understand why JR made the deal he did and I was excited to see him play here as he was so good in Minnesota. But just 85 games in the past 3 years and now hurt again, just got under my skin. Hey if anything the young guys get some ice time right? Other than an awful turnover that led to an easy goal Poulin looked pretty good.

  4. I agree with you about Zucker. My son and I thought he has been one of the best players on the team this year. Lets hope this is a short term deal and he can actually play most of this season.
