    * Kane tied Seabrook for the 3rd-most games played in franchise history (1114).
    * McDavid set Hyman up for a one-timer.
    * Athanasiou scored on a breakaway.
    * R. Johnson scored on a rebound.
    * McDavid scored 18 seconds into the 2nd.
    * The 2nd period was messy. 14 minor penalties were awarded in the frame (and some calls were missed).
    * Toews redirected a PPG into the net.
    * McDavid scored on a 4-on-3 PP. The shot popped up and over Stalock.
    * E. Kane appeared to score on a rebound, after falling on Stalock. It was waved off for goalie interference. The call was confirmed, after a coache’s challenge. E. Kane was later given an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
    * Domi scored on a 5-on-3.
    * Blackhawks: [Patrick Kane (756) passed Doug Weight (755) for the 5th-most assists by an American born player](https://twitter.com/NHLBlackhawks/status/1585818199337013248).
    * RNH scored on a PP that carried over from the 2nd.
    * McDavid scored on a PP to complete the hat trick.
    * P. Kane scored on a rebound.
    * Draisaitl scored with 37.6 sec remaining, after Toews failed to get the puck out of the zone.

    You know what, not even mad about losing that clusterfuck of a game.

    It’s really nice to see a team with grit.

    We may not be taking a cup with this team but fuck, we are fun to watch and have shown we can hang in there with even the best of them.

    Oilers are still a poverty franchise.

  5. fooly__cooly

    Very entertaining game but shitty that it ends like that. If the refs actually call that too many men on Edmonton there we probably make it to OT.

    Well whatever I’m really happy to see this team play this hard and never quit. It’s early but I’m loving what I see from Luke Richardson

  6. MarcAnguyFieri

    went into this year just wanting to watch fun hockey, win or lose, and thats what we got. cant wait for the next game

  7. inevitablescape

    So many penalties. I expect one to be called on the way to the locker room

    It’s a really hard spot to be a fan in. Nobody want their team to finish 23rd. You want to commit and believe that the playoffs are an option and you want wins and to steal games, but then at the same time you want to lose every game and get rock hard for bedard. But then your team goes on a 4 streak including toppling the florida panthers and it just amplifies that

    Even though we lost, I don’t think the shoe has dropped just yet. It was a close and chaotic, fun game.

    I like this team so far.

    Two too many men calls missed on edm tonight. Great job refs. Oilers won’t win shit with that team. It’s all mcdavid and Drai. No depth at alk

    You know what. Even i didn’t enjoy the outcome I sure as hell did enjoy the broadcast. I only listened to the third but I really like Colby Cohen and Chris Vosters. I think they are funny

    So frustrating. It’s still a W in my book, I’d rather lose in regulation 6-5 than get blown out 7-0 any day of the week.

  13. GoldWhale

    Great game. Don’t really care about wins tbh. Systems/discipline/special teams. We’ve been improving on them all. Great game.

  14. KJzero9

    What a wild game. The season is supposed to be a tank job, so I’m not upset at the loss. The team still played to their competition and their competition is a supposed cup contender. Imagine what can happen when this team has real players on it.

    I would like to see something done about all the penalties. Come on guys. That’s just bad play. Stop doing that.

  15. BiglySomething

    Edmonton needs to start getting some harder penalties, they’ve become a really dirty team. I noticed a bunch of face checks and other things that were ignored. I think they could have had 10 more penalties easy tonight.

    Not just this game , they’ve had 3 or 4 this season where they just felt out of control and dangerous.

  16. Capable-Average4429

    One thing we’ve learned today is that the Oilers fans are not very thick skinned. That’s a win in my book.
