Miller to flyers, I would rather have Bo Horvat over Miller!
Vancouver's Miller signing makes the new front office regime look foolish. Not aggressively upgrading their back end after watching Demko play most games last season under siege also makes them look foolish. Did Rutherford really come in, evaluate his new roster, and think that D was going to cut it? Their apparent lack of a coherent plan even after an offseason of evaluation raises lots of questions.
Flyers management and players likely mentally prepared that Ellis may not be back. Sean C can hopefully return at some point this season. Could see JVR going at the deadline, but Provorov? well…big contract, and he's been lawsy. However, he might excel on a team where he's on the 2nd pair. If Flyers retained some salary, could be doable. Still puzzled at the way Canucks Management is handling Horvat. But If he wants more than 7M/yr, I could see the team having a definite issue with that.
The problem with Meier is that even if the sharks want to keep him they can’t afford him. They would have to trade away a ton of players to make room for him and they’re already too too heavy with bad contracts.
