Aperçu de la saison des Kings de Los Angeles 2019-2020

La plus grande question est de savoir qui marquera les buts nécessaires pour revenir aux séries éliminatoires. 1. If Quick finishes the season as a King, I'd be very surprised. Capfriendly doesn't show any kind of NTC/NMC in his contract, so he could be dumped anywhere.

  2. honestly, they have the assets for a good teardown and rebuild, lots of guys teams might want to rent out

  3. Idk how Todd McLellan and Kovy co-exist. Just leave Kovalchuk on the 2nd line, give him PP time and hope for the best. Last season was dreadful to see things went down.

  4. Kovalchuk was badly positioned last year that majority of his minutes (that I saw) was with Carter-Toffoli. Probably the worst combination. Kovi needs to be on the top line with some combination of Brown, Kopitar, Iafallo because he's more of an offensive player that needs to be covered by two-way players. Not to say that Carter and Toffoli aren't good, but someone needs to be able to dig the puck out and bring up the puck through the neutral zone to free up the wing (Kovi).

  5. Ugh…..the truth hurts. If our guys don't bounce back this year I don't see us making the playoffs for the next 3-5 years.

  6. Kings' problems stem from not going full blown rebuild which I understand because of albatross contracts given to the "Core group"- Brownie, Kopi, Quickie and Dewie and previous draft picks were traded away. Even if you do full blown rebuild now or next year, you have to eat good % of the mentioned players salaries (who for the most part have NTC) PLUS you have to dangle a high pick or a good prospect for another team to take on mentioned players' contracts . At this point of all 4, Dewie has the most trade value which would tough to swallow because he is your # 1 D. Moreover, previous high picks are either unfortunately injured (Vilardi)or not ready to step up to NHL level. IMO just blow the roster up to have a better odds of snagging the overall next year – Alexis Lafreniere or use that chip to get highly skilled boatload of prospects based on positional needs ala Eric Lindros Trade.

  7. Kings, for the good of the franchise, should (and probably will) stay comfy down in that basement, selling what they can and getting ready to contend again in a few years with Peterson, Vilardi, etc. and Kopitar and Doughty in the twilight of their careers.

No shame in that: Many franchises would give up a rebuild for 2 cups and 2 other deep runs in a four year span.

  8. Still have too many older players and clinging onto the cup years. Los Angeles Kings need to do a rebuild and will see the bottom part of the Pacific Division.

  9. Petersen being in the AHL this season wouldn't be good for him. His stats in Ontario were awful last season, because he has no support. The defense was AWFUL for him, and he didn't have great offensive support, either.
If you think the Kings were bad last season, man, the Ontario Reign were even worse. I'm a Reign season ticket holder, and it felt like we lost every game. Some fans tried to blame Petersen, but when he was playing for LA, he proved that the losses in Ontario were NOT his fault.

  10. Looks like Artie kaliyev is going to be the steal of the 2019 draft. Maybe he kills it in training camp (most likely he goes back to the OHL for another year or two). Akil Thomas looks very good. Also I'm not giving up on Gabe Vilardi. There is absolutely not information about this guy. Has anyone seen him walking around town or at the gym…how does he look..

I see the Kings finishing with 85-89 points this year. Top 10 D and bottom 3rd in O.

  11. I still love Tafolli, when he's on… he's great. But the team on average is 'old'… I'm not confident yet, that they will bounce back from last season, which was so painful to watch. As a long time Kings follower, it's hard to watch when the boy's do so badly. Quick's groin injuries remind me so much of Rob Blake's chronic injuries.

  12. I was surprised this happened in my franchise mode managed to get LA to take Brian Boyle for carter and retain 50% for carter

  13. Both Los Angeles & Anaheim as long as they can avoid too many key injuries should be much more competitive just for simply making head coaches changes. Both of them at least the majority of veterans quit on the team and coach which is disappointing considering they are professionals. Anyhow, Las Vegas is building a juggernaut so they will win the division and San Jose should trend down I think. And i think it is too premature to give up on Jonathan Quick. L.A. has never ever had a goalie of his caliber home raised , always have had over the hill goalies that were great before or just plain crappy goaltending. He is a conn smythe winner and two time champ and you can never take that away. But if he is not going to be healthy at least Cal Peterson looks like the real deal. And 2003 final performance of Mighty Ducks J.S. Giguere con smythe winner in a losing team effort was my best I recall.
