  1. Softest team in the NHL – That's why I've always called them: "the maple loafs". I've been following the NHL since the '68-'69 season and the maple loafs are the most pathetic team of the original six. Now with all those overpaid Prima Donnas they are the biggest joke in the league. Their defensive core is at best, minor league level and the rest of the team is gutless.

  2. I'm just going to say in regards to changing the coaches. I don't think Babcock was the right coach for what toronto was " at that time" an older coach that plays the veterans only and tries to play structured. Keefe did a good job raising the team up but maybe a coach like trotz that gets teams to play a different STYLE of hockey would be better. You always say ahhh playing islanders under trotz is always a low event game. Maybe the leafs need a coach like trotz to introduce low event hockey. I think as a whole the team has gotten older where a VETERAN coach might change things.

And a coach like trotz making a comment about oh I think I'm going to take the year off… a holl of famer coach that understands what the media is like? Maybe that was trotz politely saying I'm a good enough coach to get any job I want and I don't want the jets, and his comments a few weeks later scream to me but I would be interested in changing the leafs.

If a coach that took the capitals and made them champions with a scorer like ovechkin is intrigued and thinks he might be able to make changes for the better for the team? I think I'd want to try him for one year……. all I know is islander made it to Eastern conference finals too all on a coach that preachs low event hockey… we all say ioohh leafs are doing leafy things, wouldn't those leafy things be reduced under a coach that teaches his structure

  3. It is exhausting watching the Leafs feeling sorry for themselves when they play. I would love to see them get mad. Start throwing some bodies around. Go Beast Mode…… but it looks like they just don't have the heart.

  4. These videos only get recommended to me when the Leafs lose. Youtube might be scheming against Dangle

  5. I said to a friend jokingly in off season that the Leafs may not make playoff this year for a bunch of reasons I can list off. I know Leafs have played 10 games at this point pretty much but it's not looking good and I'm looking right this far. 72 games to go 🤔

  6. The line about Sheldon Keefe having such a high win% as if it means anything moving forward stays weird with me. By the same logic, Mike Babcock should still be coaching the team because look how successful he's been in the past.

Who cares about the last few regular seasons? If it's not working, it's not working.

  7. When I started this comment it ended up being 10 paragraphs long with catch phrases and big boy words, now it's down to this. The leafs are a business/product and it's marketed to you, the fan. The 1967 team players would have ripped these fake laces out of the current jerseys with their gums because they had no front teeth. You the fan can make a difference. Mr. Steve Dangle, keep up the amazing passion and relentless work, you do sir, I'm a true admirer. Final words: Wash Rinse and Repeat since 1967.

  8. Stop freaking out. Look at the standings…everything is upside down. Teams that were supposed to be good are crap and crap teams are actually, kinda good..This tells me that it's too early in the season. Maybe too many players took the summer off.

  9. stop defending keefe. you cant even do it without slightly realizing how bad of a coach he is anymore.

    he needs to GO

  10. Dont feel bad Steve… I watch your videos when they win too. I'm just more entertained watching the lost videos 😂.

  11. Lightning fan here. They are on the same west coast trip as the leafs. It's kind of cool gauging who is better. The lightning finished strong on their trip while the leafs are faltering. Hope they beat the ducks!!

  12. FYI – your Easter Seals link leads to a dead end – "Thank you for your interest… this event is closed"

  13. In adding to the ice cream analogy, I feel like the cost of ice cream is going up (harder to win), harder to obtain (more teams are playing better or above expected and can buy the ice cream before us) and our dollars from last year are worth less than a dollar now (players arent showing up or playing to their expected level).

And maybe theyre trying to buy ice cream but we have a collection of different currency and the guy only accepts dollars (we have no identity) Need to trade/exchange for the right currency. And you cant afford the ice cream if some of your money is actually Monopoly money (worthless)

  14. Can they trade for someone that helps fire up the team on the ice. We miss you Tie Domi, Kadri, Clark, Eddy Shack,Tiger Williams. Yes I am that old and been a Fan that long. ! This is a Great Team, lacking in fire . Hopefully soon to come, healthy Defence will make a difference as well !

  15. Finally! Someone other than fans is saying Holl is bad. I don't hate the guy but nobody is doing him a favour by leaving him on the Leafs. Maybe he will be a great defenseman someday but not on the leafs. Dubas, Who I have stood behind, Has to do something to correct the defense. You want to be a GM, time to put up.

  16. Well I got you beat. I'm 52. May not see a cup before I die. Lol. I think the only choice is to fie Keefe. But only if you can get Barry Trotz

  17. Eh, that’s what I’m seeing. It feels like this group already peaked, and who knows what it is, but, they don’t have it. At least not right now.

  18. hang on steve. have a think about this 'try ir once' approach, perhaps try them together and coach them to play together, with a purpose and with an identity for a few months.

we can't keep chopping and changing

  19. Well, the Habs won in fine style. So we are all smiling over here on the Montreal side of things.

  20. You need a smile? I heard Reimer was interested in rejoining the Leafs and he's got a winsome smile

  21. Omg dude dicky dee on the bike selling ice cream that brings me back to the 1990s hahaha summer as a kid was awesome when you heard that bike bell

  22. This team lacks energy a nd totally understand how hhhorrible they looked ! No excuses! Just a poor team !

  23. I though you would have reported on the Samsonov incident after the game. Apparently he was so dejected that he threw himself in front of the team bus as it was leaving. He wasn't hurt because…the bus went between his legs!

  24. Can’t believe Dubas saw Holl and saw McCann and said to himself I want to keep Holl. Morgan rielly should have been traded but instead Dubas signed him. That was an opportunity to signal to everyone that we need to win or there will be changes.

  25. To any Leaf fan who thinks Sheldon Keefe is the worst coach in the NHL right now, I'm a Ducks fan who has to deal with Dallas Eakins. I'd have Keefe in a heartbeat.

  26. Let's just take a moment to focus on the real issue here.. Victory puppy hasn't had a treat in like a week!

  27. Yeah, I'm guilty of mostly tuning in during losses but I catch the odd win as well. Yes, I'm a Habs fan but I sub your channel out of jealousy that there is no one who can break down a Habs game to your standard. Way to go, Steve, way to set the bar too high…I suppose if my Francais wasn't tres mauvais then I could find someone to cover Habs reviews.

  28. I feel like this team at large has a complex network of psychological switches that, when they are all set in their correct positions, enables them to perform to expectations. Emotional and/or psychological volatility scrambles these switches when circumstances are not 'just so'.

There is a habitual, psychological discipline that comes with being a consistent winner – being able to flip these switches at will instead of simply allowing circumstances to dictate them.

I think that losing to Tampa in Seven last year after giving everything they had, as well as the history of shocking first-round exists prior to that has permanently stuck one or more of these switches in the wrong position.

  29. Did they party in Vegas??.. I wonder 🤔I think it's in the room… something going on..maybe to many superstars?
